Ajvar Hot Roasted Red Pepper Relish 550g by Granny's Secret

Really love the product, especially as I'm quite particular about "home" food. This ajvar is actually nice, really creamy with chunks of peppers, a bit of spice but not too much. Big recommendation :)

My family love this. It is so versatile. I cook some pasta, add mushrooms in oil (drained), chop up some red peppers in a jar (drained) and add this relish. I have to vegan family members and they love it. I have also tried with artichokes (drained) and mixed in some mini mozzarella balls.

Good as a spread but goes even better with any meat - it was the star of the recent barbecue. The only problem is it goes too quickly, now we have to order more and it's not cheap - still, worth every penny.

Discovered Ajvar in our online supermarket and thought lets try that, seems interesting. It great stuff - can be added to pasta, to enhance pasta sauce and myriad of other things. Just adds that bit extra. Don't want to advertise it too much in case the price goes up ! :)

This was in a recipe I was trying, I have never used it before but I'm bowled over by the taste. The jar is a generous size but only lasts for 10 days in the fridge once opened, so I had to get creative. Will definitely buy again

This Ajvar tastes excellent. Not much else to say, the taste is just 10/10. It goes with everything. As a dips, with cheeses, on bread, as a cooking ingredient, etc. Hell, I happily eat it right out of the pot. However, £7.10 is very expensive, and the amount of product you get is very little. The ingredients that go into this product are few and all very cheap, particularly if you're producing commercially. After all, ajvar exists because people in the Balkans needed something to do with the vast quantities of surplus red peppers. The profit margins on this product must be insane. If you buy this and like it, consider trying to make your own. After I annihilated the two pots of this stuff that I ordered, I tried my hand at making it myself. Came out just fine and for considerably less money.

I liked it but I would have preferred a bit more spiciness. That just me. The product and service was great.

Amazing stuff. Get yourself a really good loaf of bread and a spoon and very soon this entire jar will be empty! This is the best ajvar I've ever had. I first tried it when I visited Montenegro and I'm glad that it's available for a great price. It's hard to believe that this ajvar has so much "umami" and only contains simple vegetables.
