Do I have to do anything before using it?

I washed mine and got the grill real hot but that’s it. I can’t recall if they had that anticorrosion oil on them but I just washed real quick. These are great btw.

Are the emitter plates constructed properly now? Lost of reviewers receviced them welded upside down.

Apparently the new emitter plates are not designed to be cooked on from what I could learn. I added cast iron cooking grids over the plates and really like the end result.

They were not the slotted one's

They were actually the round hole emitters, which is better. BUT, the ribs and holes do not line up with the cast iron grates I have that are original to the grill. So now I have areas of the grill top that get too much heat, and others that get very little. Useless.

Description included my model number and yet the product shows up 1 inch over-sized.

It was over an inch off on the length. The sides were also sharp. The metal is very thin as well.
