HAGAKURE The Hidden Code of the Samurai: Original Version + An in-depth look at Japanese Imperialism

Not the best version of the book but comprehensive.
Cheap paper, also a less appealing format to the William Scott Wilson translated edition with the Five Rings cover art. Personally that version I found much better to get into.

Hagakure
Good book. Author does a good job at the beginning to provide background. To me it read a lot like an older man passing wisdom and guidance to those that were seeking it.

The book feels haphazardly slapped together.
While the font is easy to read and print quality is consistent, the composition can be an absolute eyesore - feels very haphazardly slapped together.Contents are interesting enough, but I'd take my chances with a different print if I were you.

The Japanese Gospel
This text is a kind of personal diary that Yamamoto Tsunetomo has elaborated in the xorso of his life. It has been defined as the gospel of the samurai and a completely contrasting vision with the western one but which makes you think. In this particular book there is also an extra story of Japanese imperialism. I highly recommend it
