I bought this for the price point and 5 star reviews. We have a huge hoard of cans to recycle and needed a crusher that could do it but did not want to spend $40-$50 on one.This little crusher is tough and I've smashed hundreds of cans with it now for the past couple months. This is an honest review of its pros and cons. (Picture is of the condition after months of use)Pros: it is fairly durable, seems to handle being mounted outside under an overhang. The metal itself is sturdy and can hold up to the pressures of crushing. The handle is padded and comfortable, surprisingly durable and has held up without ripping. Also it's not an eyesore once mounted and it can handle a large amount of cans without being hindered at all. Mounting the crusher is very simple and they provide all of the screws you need.Cons: the grip pads on the top and bottom portion of the can holder break and wear out very quickly (mostly aesthetics you don't need them). After a couple hundred cans the mechanism starts to get stiff and does require some kind of lubricant like WD-40 or in my case I used white grease. Once the black finish is worn off it will rust and be more susceptible to it(as you can see from the picture where the paint has rubbed off). Also when smashing if you smash all the way down forcefully about every 10 or 15 cans gets wedged in the bottom that you have to pry out(this is solved by leaving a little space at the bottom of the smash)Overall this is an excellent can crusher for the price point, it has exceeded my expectations and I expect it to last for quite a bit longer. If you're not looking to spend very much but get the most bang for your buck definitely this one. This one is in no way comparable to the cheaper ones like at harbor freight, it's definitely much better.

I've only been using this one for a week, so I can't judge its durability. Crushers tend to last me about a year. I will say that it feels more solid than the cheaper one I used last, even though the designs are similar. It's a pleasure to use.I like that it has a lining to keep the cans from sliding around (although others have said that part will wear out). If this sucker gives me more than a year of crushination, I'll be very happy.

Does this crush cans? Yes. In fact it crushes both 12 oz and 16 oz cans. The design is nice and slim which made it easy to find a spot to mount on the wall. I do recommend finding studs to mount into. The amount of pressure applied when crushing cans and pulling on the handle is significant and I wouldn't trust it just going into the sheet rock, even with the plastic wall mount anchors. The handle feels pretty solid, but it isn't as sturdy feeling as some I've used in the past. I haven't noticed any bending, but it is not the strongest feeling can crusher I've ever used. I'd prefer if it was a bit stronger metal and if it would crush a bit lower. It leaves a bit more of the can uncrushed than I'm used to. I give it a 4 out of 5, though really I'd say 3.5 if that was available, but we will round up as the price was good.

I’ve only had the Grizzly Living Heavy Duty Can Crusher for a day now but I’m already loving it! It has made light work of all the cans I have collected. It was easy to install, feels extremely durable and the price paid was well worth it!

Like this thing. The little rubber pads seem to help and it came with a pretty nice little coozie too. Helps save a lot of space in the recycling.

Really strong and a good value for the money. I haven’t tried to crush empty cans of tomatoes, but I bet I could.

Funktioniert einwandfrei, ist aber leider für Konservendosen 800ml zu klein. Ist aber kein Problem da ich die großen Dosen sehr selten benutze.

ich weiß ja nicht für welche Dosen das funktionieren soll, Futterdosen gehören sicherlich nicht dazu. Das Teil ist nicht zu gebrauchen und hat sich total verbogen, ist einfach nicht stabil genug.Der Kundenservice von Amazon ist so undurchsichtig geworden dass man sich alleine gelassen fühlt!
