Newstar FPMA-W950 TV/Monitor Wall Mount (Full Motion & gas spring height adjustable) for 10"-40" Screen - Silver

Great item, bought mine as used and it was very battered though. But does the job and does it well.

Used for hanging a 14kg, 43" monitor. Pro: 1. It does feel very sturdy; 2. It does work (almost) perfectly well - the monitor can be positioned anywhere in reach of the arm at almost any angle (within the spec.). Con: 1. Make sure you have VERY good brickwork to screw into - I found a soft patch and it just pulled straight out; the problem is the top two screws are very close together - that means you have to be very careful about drilling - you're not leaving much material to support a lot of force; unless you have very strong walls, only use a 9mm bit, as opposed to the 10mm they recommend (yes, then you have to work on it a bit until the rawl plugs fit); I ended up angling the top screw up-and-left slightly and the bottom (of the top 2) down-and-right slightly - so far so good! I would prefer a slightly bigger wall plate, with more room for the extreme load bearing on the top screws; (I don't remember calculating moments too well, but if you have 20kg hanging 500mm out and apply that to a 166mm wall plate, aren't you getting 20*500/166 = 60kg of pulling force on the top two screws?) 2. Although the support is good, when the monitor's weight is being applied at an angle to the arm, it tends to droop slightly to one side - it's not a huge amount, only a few mm, but if you want the monitor very close to your desktop, as I do (15mm) , it is quite noticeable and annoying.

Il supporto TV è dotato di ammortizzare a gas interno che dovrebbe permettere al braccio obliquo di alzarsi e abbassarsi di 34 cm. Il pezzo che mi è arrivato ha il braccio quasi bloccato. E' stato possibile spostarlo di pochi cm solo con grandissimo sforzo. Inoltre, ad ogni tentativo, il braccio è ritornato nella posizione iniziale (in alto). Non c'è nessuna vite, pulsante leva... che consenta di bloccare/sbloccare il movimento. C'è solo una vite per la regolazione di coppia nello snodo centrale che, però, non sembra influenzare il movimento di regolazione in altezza in nessun modo. E' abbastanza evidente che il prodotto sia difettoso. Dato che il supporto non si alza ne' si abbassa, si tratta di un oggetto costoso e pesante per niente.
