It's built in. When you go through set-up on screen, it automatically looks for connections and asks for the password. Linked up to our home hub with no problems.

Can this successfully play different file types from my nas? online reviews mention stuttering when doing this.

FVP-5000T models can support Video, music and photo file playback from both external USB hard drives and Network Attached Drives. The most commonly used are supported, JPEG, Mpeg. Stuttering could be due to limitations of the network connected too, but have never experienced personally.

If your wifi dropped for any length of time, does it still record OK as long as it's set to record only live broadcasts and not catch-up programmes?

Recording does not depend on WiFi. Machine records more than one program at a time but up to now have only recorded 2 programs at same time, no problems.
