Great little chuck!
I use this chick on a wood lathe. Not sure if that's it's intended purpose. I cushioned the flat edges with foam tape and it doesn't seem to marr or dent the wood. I use it all the time to reverse bowls and finish the bottom

Almost acceptable
You get what you pay for: the jaws aren't very well aligned, and I usually have one that refuses to clamp strongly.

Works ok as a chuck for a wood lathe.
I found that the jaws work but they are rather loose on the chuck. You have to also recognize that those jaws are sticking out from the face of the chuck so you have to be careful of not hitting them with your tools. Tightening of the chuck jaws is kind of a pain because you have to have both tools working at the same time; however, if you use the stop on the lathe it is a lot easier to do the tightening.

It works very well
I am often hesitant to buy woodworking tools that are not brand name. This tool has made a believer of me in the no name knock off department. After my first use, I made a wooden box for Storage. It’s quite an asset. Works simply and easily. And it’s half the price of brand-name products.

Buyer Beware! Only Clamps Inward (Won't Hold Bowls From Inside)
This is great for clamping something inward only (despite the pictures showing it holding a bowl from inside). As soon as I start the lathe, the rotation causes the screw mechanism to loosen the jaws if you're trying to use them for outward force / gripping. For inward force, the spinning is fine as it serves to tighten the jaws in that case. The photos lie! Grrrrrrrrrrrr! I have a machine shop so I will try to make some sort of lock but I don't recommend anyone else buy one if they wan't to grip something from the inside! The long jaws are knuckle bangers too. They got me once already! Use caution if you do get them!
