Great Carburetor!
Buy This Carburetor! I was very lucky in that the factory settings on this carburetor matches exactly what my car needed. There is a sheet of detailed instructions on how to trouble shoot the carb if needed. It's fantastic that it comes with a secondary throttle arm, which I needed. Very well constructed and I'm very happy with it!

Difficult to install, several issues
The first thing was the linkage had to be replaced with the one included and Loctite had been used on the Phillips screw and was a pain to remove. I had to cut a slot in the screw to use a flat screwdriver. Then loctite had the linkage stuck very tight. There was no pipe from the base of the carb to the auto choke and the original wouldn’t work. Finally got it connected and gas was spraying from the inlet where the filter is located. LOCTITE was used on it too. Took a pull handle to break it loose and could never stop it from leaking so took the one out of my old carb to stop the leak. If you are wondering, I’m not happy!

This is a good carburetor
As Vine Reviewers, we have a tough job but someone has to do it, right? We have a duty to go over and beyond mere hasty "surface" evaluations and dig deep into the value, quality, safety and "sellability" of new products making their way into Amazon's world-wide market place. After which, most of us donate reviewed product to charity-thrift stores and/or to help the homeless. This is a good carburetor - so I have to disagree with some of my fellow Vine Reviewers. Although their arguments are well taken, we must take into consideration the issues. Fit: The carburetor fits on the manifold, but linkage and "accessory" attachments are a complaint by some. This is expected, because of the variation from model year to model year, as well as how old some of our "treasures" are. I have a 1941 Chevrolet 2 Door Coupe with a 235. I needed to exchange my existing linkage AND choke (which mine is automatic-electric). Since no manual choke, no problem with heat-riser. Besides, if I wanted to go original, my 41 has a manual in-dash choke cable. But I am far too lazy to pull on the dash-knob and less able to remember to push it back in a few miles down the road. Chug, chug ..... Less we forget, 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe 2 Door Couples are equipped with "cruise control" - that's the other dash-mounted manual cable-knob with a "T" imprinted on the knob - which is connected to the carburetor linkage, where we "pull" to set the cruise speed and push to release it. That's luxury. The stock accelerator linkage worked after linkage swap-out as did fuel fittings. Some issues with fuel fitting are often aftermarket fitting replacement problems which can be resolved by buying new fittings (which most of us need anyway). I have a brake line making tool (purchased from Amazon), so making fuel lines is a breeze. Vacuum lines worked. Original air cleaner fits. Side-by-side this NENKUTEN 1 Barrel Carburetor is exactly the same as my existing 70 year-old Rochester - except it no longer floods or leaks. Gee, how much will I miss that? Price-wise on Amazon, $100? are you kidding? The closest replacement out there is $250, not counting core charge.

Rev Up Your Ride!
For anyone restoring a 1957-1961 Chevy truck, the NENKUTEN 1 Barrel Carburetor is a fantastic find! Designed specifically for 3.8L engines, it fits like a glove in models like the Bel Air and El Camino. The paint finish gives it a polished look, while the quality craftsmanship ensures it won’t let you down on the road. Once dialed in, it really helps your engine run smoothly. However, be prepared for some installation challenges. You might need to adjust a few settings or grab some additional gaskets to make it fit just right, which can be a bit of a hassle for the uninitiated. Plus, the throttle arm replacement included is great, but it might take a bit of time to get everything lined up perfectly. Despite these minor hiccups, this carburetor is a solid investment. Its performance and durability are worth every penny, making it a reliable choice for vintage truck owners. With proper care and a little patience, you’ll have your classic ride purring like a kitten in no time!
