The blades and motor are strong even on the lower settings and it isn’t as noisy as blenders I’ve had in the past. **Q: does it have different speed settings for example a very slow speed for making mayonnaise?** A: This blender has both pre-set and manually adjustable speeds . I mostly use mine for fruit/vegetable smoothies and it’s great, haven’t tried crushing ice and not very good for blending chick peas to make houmous. The self-clean mode is great. **Q: I'm after a plastic jug for this blender as my 2l glass one is too heavy. Is there one which fits?** A: I asked manufacturer about the plastic jug or smaller jug/mug option but they said it wasnt available.
