Thanks Ebuyer Support ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Quality and Value for Money *by S***K on 25 November 2017* Bought to replace an old Plasma TV that was on its way out.Was expecting a slightly worse picture quality compared to the Plasma, but was blown away with both the Picture and Sound Quality.Uses a fraction of the electricity of the old TV too, this is A++ Rated for Energy Consumption.Only minor niggle was base and Stand were very awkward to screw to the TV itself. You will need to either have this flat on an elevated surface with the Base and Stand over the edge, or vertically upside down to attach.Apart from that minor initial issue, I cannot fault this TV at all.Stand is thin and stylish with a small red light in standby, green for on, uses very little power. Very thin black surround on TV itself which you can hardly notice.Initial setup Menu was clear and easy to follow, had TV up and running in a few minutes.Great Price too.Overall I would give this Toshiba an unreserved five stars on style, picture, sound, ease of setup/use (apart from the stand!) and energy consumption.Superb must buy purchase! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does exactly what you expect from a top Japanese electronics maker. *by A***R on 28 June 2018* As you would expect from the Japanese, a top qaulity product. The only thing I can find at fault is, there is no Guarantee? Least not in the box.Nice and light too, not like our old tv which needed two people to lift it out of the house. Superb picture, and no problems with the sound. Auto tuning found all the stations in my region in two minutes.I would recommend this to anyone looking for a top quality tv at a modest price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good as a TV - not good without an aerial connected. *by V***A on 22 December 2017* Finally relented and bought a TV - 55" variant.Delivery was okay - knew it wouldn't arrive in the timeslot set when it was listed as dispatched from a depot at the other end of a motorway within the slot itself. Left a message with courier and they called back to reschedule for a less convenient time/day; which was met. Not sure if that was due to also emailing Amazon customer service who very promptly responded that they were chasing the courier.The TV itself...is big. It's so big if a big TV came along to buy a big TV it would go "Whoa, now that is big." The box looks even bigger, which of course it is. The box felt really heavy but the TV itself turned out to be okay to be handled by just me (a 6ft, average build, not terribly strong male). I had also bought a wall mounting which I had more trouble attaching to the wall than I had mounting the TV on (again with just me doing the lifting and positioning).Due to no usable aerial socket/cable in the location first use was setting up the network, easy, with youtube. Found HD videos. Amazing. Absolutely shocked by the 4K imaging having never had a 4K screen before. Computer display overscanned but then I had just unplugged from it's monitor and into the TV (HDMI). A reboot and again, wow; obviously detected the screen and switched to 4K automatically. Sound was certainly acceptable through the HDMI. Biggest problem was selecting the correct HDMI socket as the labelling on the sockets isn't clear; so not exactly a big problem.A big/huge negative is that without an aerial none of the ondemand TV applications, like iPlayer, work. They all require to have detected that the equipment is broadcast recieving (presumably). I can see this as a way of ensuring the TV is located within the expected region for the players but it very annoying when there isn't an aerial available. Therefore the TV was almost just wall art for a week until I could get to the shop for bits and attempt to make the cable end sticking out of the wall into a socket - but that's a whole other saga.Finally with broadcast signals available the TV tuned itself when instructed. TV aerial man said to use channel 101 to see if there is a FreeviewHD receiver. That wasn't a HD channel so even though I thought it had such a thing the aerial man thought not. Turns out that the channel numbering is not logical. First channel appeared as 101 and they went up from there. All the channels are mixed up. BBC ones interspersed with others for example, radio channels interspersed with TV ones. Reordering didn't see to work, the "move" option just does not seem to do anything. However, I finally determined that one can add to a "Favourites" list and then select that list as the default one to select channels from when changing channels. It does therefore seem there is a way for us old timers to have 1 = BBC 1, 2 = BBC 2, 3 = ITV, etc. Also a way for us to obscure the adult channels from the children - the first appeared something like 102 so second in the list!The media player is not terribly good. It looks good in the first screen where the type of media is selected and it certainly lists my DLNA servers. However, it won't play DVD backups without selecting each VOB (or whatever they're called) file in turn. Other containors/formats can't be handled at all. I've not analysed which files can't be shown but I certainly have a range of films/programmes I can't watch on this TV.The manual is worth nothing. Even the on-screen one which just seemed to replicate the thin paper manual that came with the TV. The help screen tried to explain the remote control buttons but the biggest problem here is that it's not for the control that comes with the TV, not the same buttons. Doesn't explain anything. Some of us may not be familiar with what the concept "lock" means when available on the channel selection menu, especially when something reasonably guessable like "move" doesn't seem to move anything.On the whole I think as a TV/computer display it is good, especially for the size/price:1) It is usable even if after a couple of weeks I still don't know how to use it fully/properly. The picture is good, although yet to be seen with bright sunshine coming in the windows in the summer. I've not noticed tearing or particularly noticed lack of range in darks.2) The sound is variable but that's mainly the volume and could well be down to the individual sources and players rather than the TV in much the same way volume can vary in youtube on a computer.3) The manual could be better - or perhaps a 4 hour training course provided for those of us who have only used computers for years.4) While navigating on the remote, say typing something in a searc box, it's very easy to catch the keys around the arrow keys. It gets quite annoying to have to search multiple times just because the "Back", "Exit" or another key has been pressed accidentally.However: do NOT get if you're expecting to use network based media sources only.
