This dace scrub is great! I have oily skin with large pores. It is comparable to the Rodan and Fields microdermabration paste, although less oily, at a fraction of the cost. Leaves my skin feeling super smooth! I also really love the drmtlgy essential cleanser. I use that prior to this product, in the evening a few times a week. A tiny bit of product goes a long way!

I'm fairly new to using regular facial exfoliants. The few I've tried have given me good results, but I've found that they can be difficult to get from the jar to my skin. They're mostly granules in an oily or soapy base, and using them in the shower with wet fingers often results in a lot of the granules getting washed off before I can get the product onto my skin. DRMTLGY is much different. The base is creamy and not slippery, so it holds onto my skin better and lets me apply it without losing half of it down the drain. The granules are very fine and seem to do an excellent job of polishing off dead skin and debris without irritating my skin. I have some chemical sensitivities, but because the product is unscented, I don't have to worry about fragrance additives causing inflammation. DRMTLGY Microdermabrasion Facial Scrub is also about half the price of my previous favorite exfoliant scrub, which is a big plus.

I am 71 years old, and have been using this face scrub/mask for about two weeks. First of all, I don't have any major skin problems. I have been using all natural products on my face for the last couple of years, and noticed a couple of what looks like blackheads at the side of my nose. Whether this was caused by the oils I use on my face or just an aging thing, I don't know. At any rate, I decided it was time to look for a facial scrub, and chose this one because of the natural ingredients. As a facial scrub, I love it. The granules are small and not like rocks and the substance they are in applies easily and fluidly. The directions on the container recommend applying and leaving on your face for 1-3 minutes. Since I don't have a lot of spare time and am always in a hurry, I have managed to leave it on for 1 minute and have used it 3 times per week. I have noticed that the little blackheads around my nose are disappearing, it rinses off easily, and my face feels so much cleaner feeling than it has with other cleansers I have tried. I do use rose water and a natural moisturizer afterwards, and have to say that my skin looks brighter and healthier. I have not yet tried this product as a facial mask that would require leaving it on for 15-20 minutes, but I will try this in the near future. If this works as a mask, it would be so much better than the thick grey stuff you need to smear on your face and let it dry until it cracks. At this point, I am very happy with the results when using this product and would recommend it. As yet, I have had absolutely no problems with sensitivity or adverse effects. I will update this review if my opinion changes or if I have any additional information. UPDATE 7/04/18: For the last couple of weeks, I have tried applying this mask to my face before I take a bath and leaving it on until the end of my bath. As a mask, it doesn't get stiff and dry as other masks I have tried and it rinses off easily at the end of my bath. As a mask, I can't honestly say that it does much more than using it as a cleanser, but I do like the way my face feels after using it. As a scrub, I like it very much and will continue to use it. UPDATE 03/02/20: I am now 73 years old, and have been using this scrub for almost 2 years. To be honest, I haven't been consistent in when I use it. Sometimes I use it once a week and other times I go as much as a month between uses. What I have noticed when I use it is that my face feels silky smooth after I rinse it off. I have also noticed that none of the pores on my face look enlarged. I use warm water on my face before applying it and then use warm water to rinse it off. I still very much like this scrub and will continue using it. I am not good at taking selfies, but I have added a picture of me at 73. You be the judge. UPDATE 02/23/2026: I am now 79 years old and have updated my picture. To be honest, I got away from using this facial scrub to try a couple of other brands. I have recently started using this facial scrub again and prefer it to the others. This facial scrub makes my face feel smoother and cleaner than the others. I also like that it can be used as a mask. I have been using it twice a week as a scrub and once a week as a mask. This is my favorite facial scrub and mask now. I was surprised how much I love this scrub! It is gently, yet you can feel how the tiny particles are scrubbing your skin. It does not irritate your skin, instead it makes your skin so soft and glowy. I have sensitive skin and I have no adverse reaction to this product at all.

This is a “little goes a long way” product. The superfine particles feel great and make my skin look so fresh and clean. I use this about once a week (be careful about over-exfoliation) and my skin looks and feels great. It has lasted well and using it feels like such a treat.

I use this product once a day and it’s made my skin sooooo smooth. It’s easy to use, and my dead skin and blackheads have significantly reduced. I use about a dime size and lather it over my face to get the ugly stuff out. Love this product.

I am acne prone and this gave me terrible clogged pores and it’s taking weeks to clear them. Super annoying. It’s a lovely scrub and felt super good to use, but a handful of days in my skin started freaking out. The acne prone know what it’s like when a product is just not a fit.

I just recently finished this jar of exfoliating scrub cleanser. The main purpose I purchased this item was to help exfoliate dead skin cells that can clog up my pores and/or form milia, which I am prone to and I needed something to exfoliate without causing a reaction. This really helped a lot. I really liked how the consistency of the texture and how much I can really exfoliate without breaking or damaging the skin barrier of my face and it did not dry out my skin after each use. I have areas on my face that are very sensitive, so I react to a lot of exfoliate cleanser, but I have not once had a breakout or any side affect happen to me when I was using this exfoliating cleanser. It removed a lot of the dead skin cells, smoothed the texture of my skin from acne scars, minimize the amount of blackheads from forms and the size of my pores, while maintaining the moisture and hydration of the skin. Also, I love that you do not need to use a lot for the whole face as the product spreads very well, so this bottle has lasted me since last Oct 2024 . I also enjoyed that there isn't any scent to the cleanser, at least from my perspective. The few downsize I would say from this product is the packaging and how well the formula is, because I had to really wash my face well as I may sometimes find there would still be small amount of the exfoliation on my face and you do have to scoop out the product, but I did not mind it so much until I got to the last bit of the product and scraping it out was difficult.

A small amount covers a lot of surface area. Not ideal for extremely sensitive or compromised skin. Premium price point, though the performance backs it up.
