Trixie 2561 Dental Care Kit, dog, White

Good value for money but cleaning a dogs teeth is a task not for the faint hearted if your dog is the sort who will let you put stuff in her mouth it actually does a good job. With our two Bichons it was a case of the toothpaste we cool with that but you can forget the brush mate we are off. The next time it was even more fun and needless to say we are now down to once a week and thats a game. The product makes the dogs breath fresh and if you can keep them still really cleans the teeth well.

Product is fine, dog is the issue……

As a first time dog owner I really want to do things right so I looked into dog dental care kits and I think this one is really good value for money. This kit has two short finger brushes one for brushing the teeth and one for massaging the gums, there's also a longer double ended tooth brush which makes it really easy to get further back in the mouth and of course the tube of toothpaste. I was very concerned that my dog wouldnt like the taste but she didn't seem to mind it at all and it smells lovely and minty. I've used the toothpaste fairly regularly since purchase, the tube has lasted a lot longer than expected and my dogs teeth are still looking lovely and white! The only bad thing is that if you get it on your dogs fur its rather difficult to get out, but I will be purchasing again in the future as it has achieved what I wanted.

The paste it's ok and my dog likes it, the only thing I don't find good is the long toothbrush, I think it shouldn't be made of plastic as my dog did chew on it when I was brushing her teeth for the first time and after that I had to bin it because it was just too sharp on the edges. If this was made from some sort of hard rubbery material it would have been great and it would last much longer. The two little brushes are ok and hard to chew on as they are rounded so it's ok. Not too bad overall.

My dog loved the toothpaste, which made the whole cleaning process much easier. It has a very light minty flavour (yes, I tasted it). The brush is really effective because the long handle means you can get right to the back of your dogs mouth, I have a greyhound with a particularly long snout so this is perfect for him. Happy doggie with nice clean teeth and no rancid dog breath! 😀

This is a good product. I've been using it on my border terrier and her breath is smelling better already. I recommend regular use, to reduce plaque build up. Also, don't scrub too hard to prevent hurting your dog's gums. There are other toothpastes you can buy that dogs prefer, with a meaty taste. This one is only mint, which my dog doesn't like too much. So the flavour isn't that great (according to her, I don't make a habit of eating dog toothpaste), but as a kit it's pretty good.

Good quality for the money

This kit is fab for introducing your dog to brushing their teeth. Our ex racing greyhound only has 4 canines and they are precious. She loves the taste of the toothpaste and we are working our way up to the brush using the finger ones.
