Can the motion setting be turned off completely? I want to activate light on an as needed basis.

You can set to be on at 1/4 or 1/2 brightness with no motion. There is no setting for off

What is the size of the screw on the rod that fastens the light to the rod?

I don't know, but the screw is included in the kit

No me arrepiento!
