Fulton Superslim 1 Umbrella Black

This is an emergency umbrella. It's extremely light and small: you can fit it in your pocket and have it with you everywhere you go. Works a treat against the unpredictable London weather. The umbrella is very small when open, so under heavy rain your trousers will get soaked. It happened very rarely to me, but keep it in mind if you need a monsoon-level umbrella. With light rain it's just perfect. The handle is very small. Not particularly comfortable to hold, but it does its job. One very important feature: it can hold its own against the treacherous London winds and gales. Never got upturned once, not even when crossing bridges and walking in narrow windy alleys. All in all, I'm extremely happy with it. In fact, I'm just about to buy a new one because some git stole mine in a restaurant.

Can't fault the umbrella for 'compactness' -- it's definitely small and lightweight enough to fit in a large coat pocket, etc. However, at £17 I feel I've overpaid by about a tenner. Feels quite flimsy and doesn't exactly fold up elegantly again once deployed for the first time. Okay as an emergency brolly stuffed into a backpack, but I can't see it lasting more than a few heavy, blustery outings.

Having had a couple of other Fulton umbrellas before, I have never been disappointed with any, and this one is no exception. Being very light and compact it fits nicely in my backpack’s side pocket, while still offering plenty of room once opened. Definitely less strong than the bigger versions but I do not at all mean by that that it is weak, and to this day never has it gone upside down yet (hope that won’t jinx it!). I wish it had a handle slightly more fitted to a fully grown adult person, but overall very happy with it.

Does what it says... it's very compact and light, so very easy to carry around but really only useful for when there's no real breeze.

Very compact which is great but flimsy and not overly practical

In my opinion this is the best portable (pocketable) umbrella you can buy. Some others might be a bit shorter (but usually a bit fatter) but this is really LIGHT and when you have it in your pocket it's like it wasn't there! And when you open it, it's like the others, not so strong but strong enough, not so big but it carries out its job.

Very light and fits nicely in my handbag so I carry it every day. Not the strongest or widest of umbrellas, but useful for when you get caught in a shower.

Der Titel sagt schon alles. Ich kaufe diesen Schirm regelmäßig um ihn zu verschenken, oder verlorene Exemplare zu ersetzen. Natürlich kein «Sturmschirm», aber unterwegs perfekt, ist immer in meinem Rucksack!

I bought this one as a gift, but I’ve had one for 15+ years now. It’s withstood windy storms and being smushed to fit in my backpack. Totally worth it.

We are rather disappointed in the umbrella, as it arrived with two small holes in the material. The dimensions, size and weight of it are quite nice but the holes render it impossible to use.
