I love using jojoba when I make soaps and balms. It does not go rancid like some oils because jojoba is not an oil, but a wax, although it pours and behaves like an oil at room temperature. Oils that go rancid contain free radicals that cause cellular damage which, over time, deplete your body of essential vitamins and are linked to chronic disease. Even for topical use, I prefer jojoba over oils for this reason--what we put on our skin ends up in our bodies, so avoiding anything that causes damage, whether topical or internal, is important to me.
