Sloppy work, if this was a wiring installation, someone might get a shock!
Previous editions have had complaints about typo's and errors, so I was expecting the Author and Publisher to take note ... shame on you, still riddled with errors, which makes a book of this nature difficult to recommend as it can't be trusted, even simple maths errors remain or have been introduced.The book overall has an issue with some concepts being explained fully and others being glossed over, with no real explanation of the fundamentals. Abbreviations are used without any key/index or full text on first use, just sloppy.The references to tables is random, some being included, others referred to in the 17th Edition (but vaguely without any location/page/paragraph notation), while I understand reproducing all tables would be excessive, this pangs of poor referencing, and even a degree student would be failed for such poor work.I'm very disappointed, this seems like a rushed (but it's not!) rehash for the 3rd revision, with no summary of the key changes (or even special colouring/sidebar against them in the text). For little effort this could be brought into a consistent style, with an appendix of key tables for ease of reference, and proof read to get rid of the errors. It's just too inconsistent ...

Good basic guide for house ownwers
This is a fairly good guide for the average house holder. However if you are going to any work on a regular basis a deeper understanding is needed

The book was very useful and arrived shortly after it was issued as expected. Glad I pre-ordered it. Lots of safety information. Well worth the money.

Ok but not much information for the price

Great!
Very well written book, incredibly handy for anyone training to be an electrician no matter what course way. Very glad I purchased. Although if you're looking at the difference between the "for domestic installers" & "17th edition explained and illustrated" there both pretty similar.
