Very good upgrade from 8 year old laptop that was twice the price. Wife loves it so I love it what could be better than that.

Disappointed
I have not been impressed with this computer when I first got it it worked ok, I had to upgrade it to windows 8.1 from 8 which was easy and made the interface a lot better. After a couple of months the touch screen had phantom inputs so bad I had to diable the touch functions in the system settings. Second they partition the hard drive into two and widow takes up most of the c partition so if you not paying attention you load it up fast. It would be better with one partition so I would change that before you use it.

Not good...not good at all.
This refurbished laptop came in great condition... physically. However, the PC was extremely slow and unresponsive. Opening programs was painfully slow. Slower than the 4 year old ASUS laptop it was replacing. At times it would appear to just stop responding all together. The touchscreen or touchpad would not respond. Had to hard boot by holding the on button. Also a popup message would appear consistently stating the video had failed but had recovered. And at time the screen would go dark and again had to hard reboot.I downloaded and updated all the relevant drivers. Also downloaded all the Microsoft updates for window 8.0. this took hours....and hours. And still to now avail. The video driver fail message appeared regularly along with screen lockup. after a day and a half, i returned the unit.In perspective...My last laptop was an ASUS 15.6 windows 7 refurbished machine that lasted 4 years without a glitch. That was probably the best laptop I ever had. The only reason I replaced it was I spilled water on the keyboard and the keyboard stopped working. It does however still work with an external keyboard attached, yet has lost its critical function of portability.I am very disappointed in this laptop. hopefully it was just a lemon machine and not indicative of the quality of the ASUS brands newer machines.

Two major exceptions!!
Two exceptions keep this from being a 5: the time it took to download and the spacer bar which is really awful!! I will connect a wireless keyboard and mouse to make this work. I don't know if it has anything to do with it being refurbished, but it simply won't space unless I hit it forcefully!! What to do?

No back light keyboard?
It's a good laptop, but for it to be as good as it is and not have back keyboard. For me they short changed this laptopwhen theyes didn't include it. It still is avery good laptop and fast.
