A Must Have Gel Pad-
I purchased a packet of these gel cushions last week & they are far better than I ever expected. I have metatarsalgia in my left foot at the inside edge of my second toe near the arch. It was sheer agony with every step that I took but these gel pads have completely alleviated my pain! I had to position the pad a few times to get the perfect placement but once I found it I was good to go. They do stick very well but I wear sandals quite a lot and since mine is needed to be placed just below the ball of my foot I do use a couple of pieces of 1" clear waterproof medical tape to keep it in place. These pads work so well that I can't live without wearing one now & have already bought another set to have on hand. They wash up beautifully & are as sticky as new once they dry. I highly recommend these pads to anyone with pain in the ball of their feet! They are very reasonably priced so don't hesitate to try these for yourself before spending a lot of money on other pads that are fairly worthless and don't give you the relief that you need to get back to living without foot pain. BTW- If you have pain in the ball of your foot near the arch rather than the toes- do not place these pads where they are shown in the picture but try putting them below the ball of your foot- not on it.

Metatarsal Pain Saviour
I cannot tell you how happy I am about this product. I have had metatarsal pain from golfing and working out for 10 years. It became so bad that I was thinking of having surgery on my hammer toes. I have spent thousands of dollars on shoe inserts, metatarsal pads, and orthotics. Most of these products require you to buy new shoes, because they will not fit in your normal size shoe. About 6 months ago, I came across this produt during a Google search for something new. I almost did not buy it because it says "callus" cushion, but then I saw a blog from a runner stating that he used it for metatarsal pain. I felt almost immediate relief, and now after 6 months I am pain free. Here are a few things I learned through trial and error. 1. The adhesive on the pad is temperature sensitive. When you remove the pad from your foot at the end of each day, rinse it only in COLD water. Hot water will remove the adhesive and ruin the pad. 2. One pad has lasted for 6 months. I put it on in the morning, and remove it at night. It has not lost any adhesion so far. I am curious to see how long they will last. 3. Metatarsil pads are placed just BEHIND the metatarsil bone to lift the foot and remove pressure from the bone. With this product, you should place it about an inch further forward so it lifts your foot, but also slightly overlaps your metarsal. This means it is actually placed about an inch back from what you see in the product brochure. They are showing placement for a callus. The gel actually cushions the bone and allows for healing. 4. This product is designed to stick to clean dry skin. Once in place, it does not move. I read other reviews saying that it slips around. They are doing something wrong, because I run 5 miles and wear it all day, and it NEVER moves or falls off. I will update this once the product wears out, if ever. Update 10/22/12 - I just changed my review from 5 to 2 stars. That is because I finally had to buy a new pair of cushions, and they are NOT NEARLY as sticky as the old ones. They changed their formulation. In addition, the new ones have a slight beveled edge. They stick slightly to the ball of my foot, but this is clearly not good enough to wear all day. I am going to try another supplier I found on Google. I will report back with my findings. Update 10/31/12 - I have been wearing the new cushions I received from CarolWrightGifts.com for over a week. These are the same gel pads that I originally received from Amazon. They are a darker color blue, softer, more flexible, and THEY STICK LIKE GLUE. I am wearing them all day and they never release or move. Great product! Update 7/15/13 - The pads I purchased from CarolWrightGifts.com are still going strong. I wear them all day, every day. They are still as sticky as the day I bought them. Very cold water and a little soap will remove all dirt and oil each night. Great product!

Foot Cushions DR
I severely sprained my ankle and after the initial healing my middle toes started to bother me. It felt like they were being pushed forward and were hitting the front of my shoes. I had pain along my toes to the middle of my foot. I finally went to the doctor and he ruled out a fracture. He explained that in the same way your arches can fall so can the natural arch formed between the joints of your toes. He recommended insoles with a metatarsal pad built in. I ordered these but couldn't wait for them to arrive so I made one with silicon. I squirted a blob on a piece of plastic bag, laid another piece on top and stepped on it lightly to let it take the form of my foot's metatarsal area. Then I let it dry. This silicon pad worked. Placing it in the right location was the key. It gave me relief right away and my foot started to improve. The real pads arrived and they are a bit softer gel. One side has a surface that stays sticky so it adheres to the foot better, too. Again, the key is placing it in just the right place then you put your sock on without allowing it to shift. With a shoe on it stays in place all day without shifting. The real pads are softer then my homemade jobs and stay in place better but they are way over priced. I'm sure they only cost pennies to make and ship. If you are not sure these are what you need try making your own first, with a blob of silicon. 15/09/12 I used this Gel Cell for quite a few months and experienced relief. The trick is placing it on the sweet spot, which is lower then in the picture. However, I found something that may have cured me! I bought a pair Crocs style shoes at a department store but they have massage soles - like these: http://www.amazon.com/adidas-Santiossage-Slide-Black-Running/dp/B0007PNAHS/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1347754901&sr=8-5&keywords=massage+sandals They hurt my feet the first day and a half but then I noticed a change. Its like they restored circulation to where it was needed. Now I keep a pair by my bed to put on when I first get up. They take that swollen feeling away after a few steps. It also helps to walk heal - toe. Sometimes I just put them on and walk around heal - toe as a sort of therapy. I'm not totally cured yet but I feel 90% better. I still use the Gel Cell with certain footwear under certain conditions but I haven't experienced real bad metatarsalgia discomfort since I started using the massage soles.

I liked the idea that this product was reusable and I ...
I bought this thinking it might help my aching feet on the recommendation of my physician. I liked the idea that this product was reusable and I was able to clean it. However upon using it, when my feet got sweaty it started to migrate in my shoe and ended up in the wrong spot on my foot. I tried sticking it to my sock but it wouldn't go there either. Ultimately I abandoned the product and threw it away. The gel cushion is a good idea, it was more comfortable than other similar products I tried but I think it needs a bit more development.

Work for the pain but occassionally slip..
Helped with the ball of foot pain but doesn't stick as well as I'd hoped. I originally bought the pads you loop through the second toe (not on Amazon - purchased at Boots in London while visiting family) and they work well if you are wearing socks and closed shoes but as it's summer and sandle season I thought the 'stick-ons' would be a better bet. They help with the pain but even with constant wetting and replacement they tend to slide around after a bit.

FootSmart Gel Callus Cushions
I was very skeptical. It's hard to imagine how something like this could stick but these surprisingly do. I wash each evening using my fingers with cold water and a bit of soap and set on a paper towel or tissue to dry overnight. They stay in place with my foot-hugging Thorlo socks and Asics shoes when exercising and wearing all day, and also with knee-high hose and Mary Jane shoes for square dancing or other shoes. I don't place them on the calluses (which are on the big protruding joint under my toes)--that would hurt--but instead position them to the side of the calluses. Sometimes I remove and reposition one because it is too close and puts pressure on the callus and they still stick. This is so easy and works far better than my years'-old ritual of cutting two small pieces of Dr. Scholl's molefoam foam padding like a half moon and placing on top of each other on one side of the callus to try to take the pressure off. That was far more expensive because of so much waste, making these cushions a bargain if they hold up very long. The podiatrist periodically trimmed away the hard skin but I still had to use the molefoam padding. My foot is a very skinny quad A without padding on the bottom and so far these things are a like miracle.

Very good product
I have been wearing the gell cusion for my left foot for only 4 days and the discomfort I was in had dropped drastically. I have a bunion that has shifted my weight incorrctly when walking and as such the ball of my foot takes more stress than it should. In time it builds up to unbearable pain when I get off work. I hobble at times from the discomfort and try hand massaging that foot area but it was so tender I could't do that for long. I used this product for 4 days, even in stocking feet around the house and I also bought the socks that have the toe separators in them and between the combination my foot pain barily exists. They hold to the foot very well and I have not had any shifting issues with it. It is not too thick or too thin and seem to do the trick. Wished I had known of these before instead of enduring such discomfort for so long. If you have metatarsil foot pain, these are well worth the money....
