Geronimo Stilton, Books 1-3

While purchased for our six year old grandson, both he and his older brother (who is nine) listened to all three books on the cd in one night. They throughly enjoyed it and want to have the next set. This CD has opened up the whole series of "Geronima Stilton" stories for both boys and they are eager to go to bed at night to listen to this CD over and over as they settle down to go to sleep.

My 7-year-old was not very interested in reading in kindergarten and when he started primary school here in Singapore (where kids start reading early), but somehow he was introduced to the Geronimo Stilton series in school and he's become a major fan of the character and the book series and reading in general. With a positive attitude, his reading overall has improved quickly. To enforce this very good new habit of his I bought this CD set for him for Christmas, and nowadays when he asks me if he can use the computer he isn't asking so that he can play online games but so that he can listen to Geronimo Stilton. Sometimes he just listens, sometimes he reads along, but he always enjoys it. He wants to get more of the Geronimo Stilton CDs, but I think these will last him a while. He's listened to the stories two or three times in the one month since he got them. The production values are pretty good, and the reading voices are lively, the sound effects fun. Cheese nuggets! I have loaded the CDs into my computer - I find it better to have him to sit at a desk and listen to the chapters from a desktop computer rather than the stereo in the living room because it's easier to get out the books if he wants to read along; also, iTunes has helpful statistics, such as 'last listened' to help him remember where he left off, and he's happy that he gets a folder in iTunes all to himself.

My grandson loves it the story line. I think they are kind of silly myself. but then I'm old, right?

I thought the books would be included with the audio Cd's - so I was a little disappointed. I bought them for my daughter who has dyslexia to listen to and follow along with the book. We were able to get the books from the library and the end result worked out well, it helped boost her self confidence of reading chapter books! they shipped quickly and are a cute series. we will be getting more!

FYI - The voice talent is very recognizable (he's an actor who also does a lot of voice talent) which throws off adults who might also listen to the stories in the car.

My eight year old grandson loves to listen to these books while going to sleep. Great alternative to watching TV. Wish I could find more of these books!

I bought the Geronimo Stilton collection for my granddaughter and we listened to the 3 CDs at least 4 times already. I even listen to the great stories when I'm not with my granddaughter. The narration is great for all ages.

We love these books on CD. However, the story titled, "Cat and Mouse in a Haunted House" has completely freaked out my 5 1/2 year old and he is unable to sleep because he is so spooked by this story. Perhaps skip this particular story and save yourself the sleepless nights if you have a child who tends to get scared easily.

Geronimo Stilton シリーズは世界中で大人気の子供向け小説です。 グラフィックノベルと言う表現で良いのでしょうか。 楽しい挿絵とカラフルに踊る文字が一緒になって、楽しい雰囲気を醸し出しています。 主人公かつ著者(？)のGeronimo Stiltonの冒険物語なんですが、 決して本人が進んで冒険している訳ではありません。 どちらかと言うと優雅に本でも読んでいるのが好きそうな主人公が 冒険せざるを得ない状況に追い込まれ、そこに面白みが生まれます。 子供向けではありますが、変に教育的な内容でもないし、 主人公も出版社の社長と言う設定なので、大人でも楽しめます。 そんな物語を録音したのがこのＣＤ。 本の内容を忠実に朗読しているのですが、朗読とは言いたくないほど質が高い。 その理由は・・・ １．効果音や音楽の演出が最高 効果音や音楽の演出が良く練られていて、物語の楽しい雰囲気を良く伝えています。 ２．プロの俳優の演技が最高 Edward Herrmann と言うプロの俳優の演技が最高。 全ての登場人物の特徴をうまくつかんで、臨場感がとてもあります。 ３．一枚のＣＤに一話を収録 こういう複数のストーリーが入っているＣＤって 一話がＣＤまたぎになっていたりすることがあるのですが、 この商品では、一枚のＣＤに一話が収録されています。 この切れ目の良さは、実際に聴く時にはかなり便利です。 本を読んで面白いと思った人には絶対にお勧めです！

Every time we set into the car for any length of drive, we make sure we have our Geronimo audio tape to help keep baby entertained. It's ready quite nicely, however in the later seasons, the narrator is top notch and does voice and really captivates the audience.

はじめに洋書、次に和書、そして最後にＣＤを購入したのですが、Mr. Edward Herrmann のナレーションによってこの本の面白さが倍増されています。和書の方は、それはそれでまた面白いのですが、やはり、洋書も読むべきだと思います。そして、その時助けてくれるのがMr. Edward Herrmannのナレーションでしょう。声色を変えながらGeronimo Stiltonの世界へ連れて行ってくれる・・・私は、なぜか洗濯物を干しながら聞いています。
