I bought this neck pickup for a telecaster build project, superb quality product at a very competitive price. The connecting cables are as described, vintage style cloth covered wire of a decent thickness and the sound is full and resonant, much better than anything F*****r produce and better than some of the cheap ceramic magnet pickups that are available. Tonerider supply two types of mounting screws, for both pickguard mounting and body mounting, a nice touch! I used a twin rail humbucker in the bridge position. This complements it well creating a good chiming sound in the selector mid position, the output volume of this neck pickup matching the humbucker's volume nicely.

I actually returned these but let me explain: I have a Telecaster Standard 2013 and I replaced the stock pick-ups with these. The Tone-Riders were as good....maybe a shade better but not enough in sound difference to justify the swap over. I went over to a Broadcaster Lindy Fralin set which are a bit thicker - and 4 times as expensive mind you. The reason for the 5 stars is that if you have a cheaper guitar that you want to cheaply upgrade with near boutique quality pick-ups then you absolutely can't do no wrong with these - you will get a set matching or slightly improving Fender stock pick-ups. Top marks to Tone Rider for producing such quality at this price.

Very pleased with these pickups. Used them to upgrade the poor ones fitted to a kit telecaster. Playing clean, the bridge pick up has a nice Tele twang while the neck pickup is nice and mellow. Playing with pickup switch and tone should give pretty much everyone the sound they want. You can get a nice crunchy sound with overdrive too. Very easy to fit. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

For the price range I was really pleasantly surprised. I used the pickup to replace a faulty one in my MIM Fender Telecaster and I can definitely notice an improvement in the quality of the tone. They are slightly more powerful than the stock Fender pickups but not overwhelmingly so and they still retain that classic Tele twang. For the price I think Tonerider pickups are a real bargain.

Put this pickup into the bridge of my Harley Benton Telecaster. This is a great sounding pickup and a marked improvement of the stock pickups in the guitar. Easy to install with simple instructions. With some basic soldering skills this can be installed in the guitar in a short time.

This neck pickup transformed the tone of my Tokai telecaster. No regrets buying this one at all. P.s. If you are just changing the neck pickup make sure you get the phase of the wires right on the selector switch, or the combined neck,bridge position will sound thin. Remember if you reverse the wires on the switch, you should swap the ground connection on the pickup's shield too.

Fitted a set of these to my 1983 Tokai BreezySound, and what a difference. The Tokai was already pretty good, but now sounds a lot fuller/beefier. I play it through a Zoom pedal board and my home made Tweed Champ clone - I love playing Jazz/blues (chord melody), but don't like things too smooth. I love the edge that these pickup have brought to my sound, without sounding at all muddy. All in all, I think these are very good value for mutants...

This is a game changer in the neck position of my Squier Tele. The stock pickup (1990s Korian version) sounded woolly, and limp. I swapped it out for this, and wow! It sounds so open and punchy. I could now play my Squier til the Cowes come home. Great for blues and anything grittier. If you play super clean, maybe stick to the standard vintage version.

Très honnête micro manche pour Télécaster. Après plusieurs essais avec differents micros de marque américaine très connue (SD), c'est le seul à m'avoir donné entière satisfaction, pour un prix très abordable. Excellent service livraison .

I have too many guitars, and some with expensive pickups - I have read that Tonerider pickups are good for the money….I don’t care what they cost, they are just good!! The Hot Classic in both bridge and neck in my Tele partscaster sound as good or better than any single coil I have - need great pickups at a good price…just buy em, you won’t be sorry

Je dois dire que j'étais assez dubitatif sur ces micros. Mais qui ne risque rien... J'ai acheté récemment une Télécaster Affinity d'occasion comme 2ème ou 3ème gratte à trimbaler n'importe où, qui pour le prix offre franchement de bonnes prestations (on a surtout du bois, il faut juste remplacer le reste ;). Notamment, les micros d'origine ne sont pas terribles. Pour les remplacer, 2 solutions : de vrais micros Fender ou boutiques hors de prix ; ou ces Tonerider a priori nettement plus pertinents sur une guitare bas de gamme. Après avoir lu qqs avis sur le net, le choix est vite fait. Commande faite donc, micros rapidement reçus dans un boitier sympa et bien protégé. Leur finition est bonne, on sent qu'on a affaire à un produit sérieux, en tout cas sans commune mesure visuellement avec les micros d'origine et leur unique aimant en longueur. Puis montage. Les câbles en gaine tressée des Tonerider semblent déjà bien plus sérieux que ceux, fins et aux soudures fragiles, des micros d'origine. Soudures faites tant bien que mal, je m'empresse de brancher le tout à l'ampli. Micro grave... ouah ! Rien à voir avec l'ancien, une sonorité beaucoup plus aérée, précise et profonde et avec de la dynamique. On distingue bien chaque corde, sans agressivité, la différence est nettement perceptible, le micro d'origine est bien plus sourd voire désagréable et au final quasi inutilisable. Puis, basculement sur le micro aigu... et là, rien. Pas de son, je vérifie tout, désoude, resoude, pour finir par le tester directement sur le jack, rien à faire, le micro ne fonctionne pas. Je le renvoie donc. Surprise, Tonerider me renvoie qqs jours plus tard un kit complet alors que je n'avais demandé le remplacement que de ce micro chevalet. Rebelote donc, je le remonte en poussant cette fois la gaine sur le fil au lieu de la couper comme la première fois (c'est nettement plus facile pour dénuder le fil électrique :) et là... Le pied ! Un son là encore bien mieux défini, et toujours sans trop d'agressivité mais avec ce grain et cette patate propres aux Télécaster. La personnalité de la gratte est franchement préservée, le son vraiment plaisant, efficace et nettement amélioré par rapport aux micros d'origine. Je suis bluffé... et rassuré. Maintenant, sans doute des micros réputés (et plus chers) feraient-ils mieux (là, ça devient pointu à juger), mais pour le prix aussi bien d'une Affinity que des Toneriders, j'ai maintenant un ensemble très cohérent au rapport qualité / prix imparable. Certes, c'est du full chinois et ça n'a sans doute pas le cachet d'une "vraie" Télé US, mais quand ça fonctionne aussi bien et encore une fois à ce prix, pourquoi s'en priver ? Je vote donc 5 / 5 pour le rapport qualité / prix, le son très amélioré et respecté ainsi que la réactivité du fabricant pour le remplacement du micro défectueux (et le 2ème en bonus). ce type de micro equipe sur j'en crois les forums les guitares Squier dont la qualité est tres variable mais ce n'est pas la faute a ces micros qui pour le prix en neuf est tres correct . On retrouve le son typique d'une telecaster .. Il y a mieux evidemment mais ce n'est pas le meme prix ! PS : en plus le 1er envoi ( non securisé ) n'est jamais arrivé , on m'a renvoye un autre qui lui est bien là chapeau pour le SAV .
