498298 Carburetor for Briggs & Stratton 135202 137202 5 HP Carb

It was a direct fit on the 5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine. I did have issues with one threaded home, a little modification had to be done. Otherwise, this was a good carburetor.

I purchased this 498298 carburetor kit for my Briggs & Stratton engine on a wood splitter, and it worked out perfectly. So glad I got this carburetor finally for my briggs 5hp wood chipper. I bolted it on. Made a very miner adjustment with the throttle arm notch holder. (Spring was a hair to long) But otherwise came with all the necessary gaskets spark plug and air filter. Definitely got a lot of bang for my buck. So I got it together prayed to the Almighty and gave that cord a pull. And would you believe it. The wood chipper fired up first pull. This is a chipper I got given. And never seen it run prior. That was 2years prior. Lol. I am very pleased with this carburetor. Would buy it over and over again if needed lol.

Not bad for the price. Was put on 1990s craftsman reartine tiller 4hp. Comes with basic parts you'll need but you will need the old carburetor to utilize parts off of it Choke screw doesn't work manufacturing of the new carb didn't pay attention to specs. Other than that it works well

This worked great. I got this for my powered lawn edger. The edger has worked poorly for many years and the speed would pulse since I bought it 20 years ago. It recently stopped starting. I saw the carburetor replacement was very affordable, so I took my chances. I am very pleased. Make sure you verify the model number matches yours.

It fit my 90s craftsman tiller motor, however : some of the holes are not tapped for the parts you have to transfer over and one hole was tapped the wrong size. I had to create bottom taps to correct these problems.

Great price for a replacement carburetor. Easy to install and worked perfectly on the first startup. Absolutely no adjustment needed. You will need to borrow a few parts off of your original carburetor but it’s not a problem. My old 1982 pressure washer purrs like a kitten.
