They consistently maintain the batteries throughout winter unlike the oem charger. You do have to bypass the obc to allow this charger to work and you can either google how to do it or by a bypass kit. The only thing you loose if you don't buy a bypass kit is the driveaway protection when the charger is plugged in. Also you will not be able to use another oem charger on cart.
