Light support & smoothing for 3x/4x pear/hourglass shapes
I wanted to post an initial review in case anyone like me has events this weekend and is considering buying this. TL; Dr: these shaper shorts are great if you're looking for light compression/support and some smoothing. As a tall plus size woman (5'11", 310lbs, 50-46-56, usually wear a 3x/4x), this item suits my needs to look a bit smoother under clingy dresses, prevent thigh chafing, and provide some abdominal compression for POTS symptoms relief. I have my highschool reunion this weekend and will be wearing a bodycon dress, so I wanted some shaper shorts that would smooth me out a bit without being uncomfortable. The mixed reviews on this item scared me a bit, but so far I'm glad I took a chance. I've been wearing them to work the past couple of days to test them out in case I needed to switch sizes or to another brand. These shaper shorts are surprisingly comfortable for having a decent amount of light-modedate compression. While I'm tall, I'm also quite short-waisted with a long hip/pelvis, and carry most of my weight in my stomach, butt, and upper thighs. The waistband comes all the way up to my bra line, but so far has not rolled down thanks to the fabric quality and small stays strategically placed. The legs are also a great length to not roll on my thick thighs - I'm easily able to adjust them higher or lower depending on the length of my skirt. The fabric is fairly breathable and soft, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Other than the very top of the waistband, I can't feel them on after a bit. I'm glad I went with the 4x instead of the 3x. My measurements were on the low end of the 4x, and I decided to opt for comfort over stronger compression. The shorts are quite stretchy, and I imagine someone several inches bigger than me could comfortably wear them. The shorts washed fine in a laundry bag on delicate cycle and didn't shrink too much. I can't speak to their long-term durability and performance, but I will update this review after my events with pictures and final thoughts. Overall, I definitely can recommend these to others looking for similar qualities in shaper shorts. I hope this review helps other tall plus size women as I know how hard it is to find comfortable, flattering clothing for us.

Awesome
I have struggled trying to find my correct size in clothing and figured out I’m more of a 18-20. Mostly 20. I finally invested in a couple of dresses and thought I could use some shape wear. I decided on this one as it was light and went up to the bra line. Well I had the opportunity to wear it them yesterday (last time I wore shapewear was well over 20 years ago and it wasn’t comfortable). Well this did a great job. It felt good with coming up to my bra line and stayed! It didn’t bunch or roll down and the legs stayed as well. It was easy to take down for potty breaks and easy to get back up. Even on a very hot day! I bought the xxl and it was just enough to flatter and shape without needing to adjust it and fix any roll downs or ups. Some may want a bit thicker fabric and support but for a very hot summer day these were comfortable and made a nice line for a dress. Still trying to figure out how to dress a plus size body. I then changed for and evening get together and put on a pair of trousers and kept them on. Again comfortable and no rolls. These are great!

Juice not worth the SQUEEZE!
I was buying this Shapermint specifically to wear under dresses to church. 5'7" 165# I purchased M/L ...I was on the outside edge of the Shapermint size chart (not Amazon size chart - based on reviews I read that the Amazon chart did not match Shapermint size chart.) I initially tried on and decided to return. I did; however, give it another try with the actual dresses. At no time did I see enough change in my shape ...or the dresses fit ...to think that being squeezed into the shapewear was beneficial. The dresses that I'm wearing are Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPQS6RY1?ref=fed_asin_title ...and I do highly recommend this dress. The waistline is already forgiving. The dresses are inexpensive, relatively speaking. I've washed once and worn once. They're not life-long Lands End sundresses ...I think (so far) a good value. Returning the shapewear.

Comfort, Confidence, and Worth Every Penny!
purchased Shapermint after reading so many positive reviews, and I'm so glad I did—it did not disappoint! I've spent a lot of money over the years trying different shapewear, but while many offered compression, comfort was always lacking. My goal was to find shapewear that was comfortable enough to wear throughout the day while helping smooth out my imperfections as I continue working toward a healthier lifestyle. One thing I've learned is that no garment can do 100% of the work—we still have to do our part by taking care of our health. What I appreciate most about Shapermint is that it supports my journey by providing comfort, confidence, and a smoother silhouette without feeling overly restrictive. If you're looking for shapewear that balances comfort with support, I highly recommend giving Shapermint a try. It has definitely earned a place in my wardrobe!

Sliming and Breathable
I ordered two different ones to try for under a silk dress for a wedding. This one was perfect. It was comfortable, breathable and easy to put on. I was looking to just slim my stomach and my thighs and this one did the trick. It did not ride up and was not visible underneath my silk dress.

Holy Misery - Death Shapers!
Dear lord have mercy these are not for short folk. I thought surely my ribs would crack or I'd pass out from oxygen deprivation. Now before you say I must have purchased the wrong size, I purchased one of these in my size, another one size up because I don't trust anything I can't try on and my success at online shopping has been very hit or miss. The result was the same in either pair, so this is not about sizing. The first thing to know I am 5'4 and purchased these for a little shaping in the hips and stomach. I did not know I was also purchasing a torture device! As I rolled that first pair up over my thighs I thought, hmm firm, and up over the belly, really firm. I kept rolling, and rolling, and rolling. Where do these things end! Now I'm getting real close to some delicates that sit well enough above my stomach that they should not be impacted, special things I don't want flattened out. Wrong! So now I have two options I can cover my upper delicates and flatten those out too, hello 5'4 extra thick board! Or I can stop unrolling these things, fold them down a bit, because an extra bulky ridge anywhere is exactly what I was looking for......I chose to fold them down a bit because flat wide board wasn't the look I was going for. Let me tell you, I chose wrong. The fabric these are made from is strong and the waistband on these are very, very strong. Now that's three very strongs right there all rolled into one, directly under my ta-ta's, coiled around my body like a starved boa constrictor that just wanted me to die! Added to that, there's still all that really strong fabric I assume was intended to cover the stomach of a giantess crushing my ribcage.....I...could...not...breathe....world...spinning....lights dimming.....HEEEELP! Now before you say you should never fold them down; you are right and I know this. But these things are never ending. It's not trying to squeeze yourself into a pair of hosiery that's just too small, where you pull and stretch and suck it in the make them stretch up to your waist. Nooo, no no no, these things are not those things, these things are just designed for someone at least 7 ft tall with a stomach waist area the length of my entire upper body. Trust me I considered user error, rolled them off and back on again and just stopped that waistband right at my waist which was about as effective as well I don't even know because it was not effective at all, but it was bulky. Moving along to the next pair, I have no idea what I was thinking, because this pair was no better. I did everything in my power to not pull or stretch them in any way. Just thrust one chubby thigh in after the other and then pretended I was a weeble wobble. A little shake and shimmy, A wiggle, a weeble and a wobble and I'm in! I gently eased that fabric covered super strength boa constrictor waist into place just above my natural waist and definitely below my ladies on high. Now I'm still breathing but they felt very heavy in the stomach area, almost as if there was just too much fabric piled on my stomach and I could have pulled them much, much further up. I also immediately noticed my stomach was definitely being "shaped". It was a very weird feeling. I felt like I was sucking in my stomach but also had a pile of concrete blocks pushing my stomach further in well past any average "sucking in" . Suddenly I was standing very straight, like a soldier at attention. I could not relax my stance, I tried. As the web of murder continued to exert all the forces of the universe on my stomach, all the body mass had to go somewhere, and it went up! I am fairly certain one of my kidneys just popped right on up under my ribs. What was that pain pressing against my spine? Well, that was the rest of my internal organs all pressing back and up, against my spinal column and under my ribs. All this pressure and upward movement of body mass and organs was making it difficult to breathe; short breaths, short breaths......I couldn't stand at attention any longer, so as my organs continued to shift, I slowly sat down. Have you ever tried to sit while part of your body is wrapped in a body cast? Me neither until right then. Now I am sitting there, straight as a board, my stomach continuing to cave in, my refugee organs pressing further and further into the space previously occupied by my lungs making breathing more difficult by the second. This was not working out, I had to get out of this torture device, I needed to breathe! Seriously, I needed oxygen....to live. And so, with every intention of rolling the death shapers off my body, I stood up and that is all I remember. I woke up on the floor with my husband kneeling over me, scissors in hand, a fresh red welt clearly visible. Apparently, he was unable to work his stubby fingers under the boa constrictor waistband and did the next best thing; he cut that medieval death shaper from the thigh up. When the scissors finally chewed through the waistband, that angry snake band decided it was not going down without a fight, snapped back and gave the poor man a welt. Ladies, if you’re tall, into BDMS or torture, you might like these. If you want to test your pain tolerance or endurance, these are for you. If like me, you prefer the security of knowing all your internal organs are in their designated spaces, move along to the next product. If you are short, move along. Lastly if breathing is not relevant to you have at these, for the rest of you, if you like breathing as much as I do, just keep scrolling, these are not for you or me.

Great fit and nice fabric !
Love the fact that it does not roll out. I should have taken a size smaller but I was in a rush for an international trip. However, it fits well not as tight as I would like but that's on me. I also love the fact that it does not roll over my tights.

LIGHT HOLD, COMFORTABLE FABRIC
For the price it is what it is and does what it says it will. Temper your expectations because it's not firm or lifting shape wear. This is perfect if you're looking for something to stop chafing and to smooth things out. The tummy (in my case) will still be there, but now the thighs won't chafe and the dress will lay nicer on the body. It will help with rolls but as far as shaping I know there are better products out there. I bought this for a wedding and had no issues with rolling down or riding up from 5-6 hours of wear. Comfortable to sit in and not a huge hassle to take off in the bathroom. However I would compare this more to spandex shorts than shape-wear. If you're looking for something more breathable however for the summer weddings and dress season or you're a sweaty person, I would stick to active wear high rise spandex / biker shorts. As I find those wick sweat and have slightly more compression than these shorts. But if you want something light weight and super high rise these are great for anti chaffing and light smoothing.

Great fit and comfortable!
After reading some of the reviews from a couple of years back, I was hesitant to order these... even though I've been wanting a pair of them for quite some time. But the more recent positive reviews made me think the product had improved. And given the details they included, along with photos, they seemed quite legit to me. So I went ahead and ordered them—taking into consideration the strong recommendation to buy a size smaller—and am so happy I did. They arrived several hours ago (I ordered them last night), and I've only just had time to try them on now. I started this review about half an hour ago and have been pulled away several times, so now I can say in confidence that they were not only comfortable when I first put them on, but after sitting and standing multiple times, they are still comfortable AND neither the top rolled down nor did the bottoms roll up. I can't tell you how happy this makes me as this has been an issue in the past shortly after putting on other brands of clothing from girdles to thigh-highs. I have sensitive skin, including eczema, and usually if something is going to bother me, it happens almost immediately... at least within the first half hour. So far, no itchiness or other discomfort. I'd like to share photos, but silly me forgot to take a before pic... so I'll try to add them later. Suffice it to say, these have helped me achieve the desired goal of holding in my lower belly. I'm in my early 60's and had lost 70 lbs pre-covid then gained 100 of it back post-covid. I'm working my way back down and am currently somewhere just under 260 lbs (I have to wait for weigh-in Wednesday for the next accurate weight). As I age and lose weight, the elasticity of my belly is taking longer to kick into place and the extra skin kinda folds down, so this was my #1 reason for wanting these shaper shorts. I'm 5'4" and have thicker legs from having been somewhat athletic in my younger years (sports, used to teach dance, avid walker, etc.) and a short midriff, with a pronounced S-curve in my spine. I also suffer from back pain from a vehicle accident some years back. Suffice it to say, clothing tends to fit me rather awkwardly. But so far, these Shapermint Shaper Shorts (love the alliteration) are feeling very comfortable and snug, as if they were made for me. I should also mention that I had to have hubby help me put these on for the very first time; but I think I'll be fine to put them on solo from here. I sure hope so, because frequent bathroom breaks are my life these days. Also, I checked these shorts thoroughly when I opened the package, and had my husband do the same, just in case I missed something. They are flawless, great design and good quality. The price was never a deterrent (even though I live on a fixed income), because I adhere to the old adage, "You get what you pay for"—and these shorts were worth every penny. I guess how long they last will depend on how often I wear them, but at this point, I think I'll be ordering another pair. These are black, I think I'll go for the beige ones next. These might not work for everyone, but they worked for me... and I seriously do *not* have the best of luck when it comes to clothing. Just remember, if you're looking for a bit of support, order a size smaller. I'm currently a XXXXL but ordered XXXL. It's certainly not making me look any thinner, but that's not what I was going for... I just wanted a smoother appearance when I wear my beloved leggings out of the house. And now, I'm feeling a little more confident to consider wearing a snug fitting dress again. Cheers everyone. And Happy New Year! Mental Note: Don't forget to post pics later. :D PS. It's been an hour now and still comfortable!
