Loved it
It was getting pretty irritating with all the "so sugary they make u puke" chick lit books when I happened to come across this gem. Very well written. .. All the angst and confused state of the protagonist is portrayed amazingly.

Do not waste your money.
The first line, the first page itself is a turn-off. Can't issue a return, surprisingly doesn't show and it's a waste of my money. The story is dull and characters lifeless.

Excellent
Those who like femme fatale characters..on the lines of "gone girl" "the girl in the train " ..you might think of adding this to your library

Loved, loved, loved this book
This book moved me tremendously, it's the best book I've read recently. To begin with, the protagonist appears to be a selfish, bitchy, manipulative New York magazine sex writer, whose present life is cleverly interspersed with flashbacks from some events that unfold when she was in high school. And as these events are revealed slowly ( the suspense and the build up of the reveal is brilliant), you understand why she behaves the way she does now and I for one, grew to love her character by the end of the book as she is revealed to be achingly vulnerable. The feelings she has for the one person who stood by her when she was at her "stray dog" worst, and their relationship is beautifully (and realistically) depicted too. The first trauma she goes through is so well written, it was hard to believe it was fiction. I just learnt today that the author has written from personal experience. Amazing writing for a debut novel, I liked it so much, I'm re-reading it now, after knowing the whole story. It's been compared to "Gone girl" and "The devil wears Prada" but it's much, much better written than any of Gillian Flynn's books (and I've read and liked them all) and though it has the same street-smartness that 'The devil wears Prada' had, this book has a lot more sensitivity and insight. My heart goes out to the book's heroine and the author.

it is a pathetic copy of "Devil Wears Prada". I am forcing myself to read it because I've spent ~600 bucks on it.
