Have you ever experienced a time when you’re learning a new skill, but are frustrated as you keep getting stuck at a certain point and don’t know how to improve or get past it? Coaching is a powerful skill to learn but it can sometimes be difficult to develop the depth and breadth needed to make a transformative change in your clients lives. This book is an excellent tool to highlight exactly how to to change that using the Co-active model. As I read it, I was relieved to see some of the blocks and frustrations I had been dealing with, in my journey as a coach, being dutifully explained. I was also encouraged and delighted to be given the specific advice and tools needed to overcome them and improve my coaching - this is the power of this book. By applying the principles I have learnt, not only has my coaching improved dramatically, but also my confidence and identity as a coach. I would highly recommend it to anyone who desires more depth from their coaching that is more than helping clients to deal with the surface problem of achieving goals in their lives.

This book made me decide to take a formal coaching qualification in co-active coaching. It is written in a very accessible way and the model is a very person - centered approach to coaching. One of the underlying principles, "people are naturally creative, resourceful and whole" says it all for me. Also the best description of intuition I have seen.

Excellent coaching "Bible" which explains all in a clear and readable manner.

If you are thinking about getting into Coaching/ Life Coaching this is a very good place to start. I am still reading it (Making lots of notes too). I did go to a two day coaching taster course and was going to enrol on a full 9 month coaching course but changed my mind at the last minute. I may go back and do the full course at some point but for now this book is, and will serve me well.

I absolutely adore this book! It has helped me tremendously to get into a coach mind and what it takes to be a great coach! I totally recommend this book to everyone! Easy to read and it is so engaging!

I was after a decent book which will see me through the ILM Coaching and Mentoring qualification, unfortunately, this book isn't it! Doesn't cover anything that students need to know. May come in useful in time. I think maybe I was trusting the reviews too much.
