Works prefectly even on modern BMWs
It works great on my 2026 BMW 5 Series G30 with the Bimmer Utility app. Initially, it was giving me an error: "Failure getting VIN, valid VIN number required for connection." Turns out, you have to disable Bluetooth on your phone and put it in Airplane mode, then manually turn on WiFi only and connect to the MHD Universal WiFi Adapter (MHD ENET). After doing that, it connects every time within seconds. This adapter is much faster than Bluetooth-based adapters.

Wifi ENET for BMW
I use it for diagnostics and coding only (bimmercode, protool, etc) and it works very well. Same speed as ENET cable, but wireless so more convenient. the only advice is don't leave it plugged in the car for long time (overnight, etc) because it may drain the battery. I left it overnight and next day although the car started, but I got message that battery was drained unexpectedly, so now I connect and remove on demand only.
