Lucy Cousins Treasury of Nursery Rhymes Book and CD

This is just the perfect collection of all the classic nursery rhymes in one place. My baby loves Lucy Cousin's Maisy books and this, too, has been a great hit! Love the colourful pictures and my baby especially loves Humpty Dumpty's image. It would've been even better if the pages were made of cardboard to make the book tear-proof, but I think that would make it too bulky as there are loads of poems in there. Brilliant second-hand buy, I think I got mine from Oxfam books and I'm a regular online customer of theirs. Always great service and prompt delivery, plus you know you're helping a good cause. I love this book and cd. I bought it as I have a young baby and didn’t know the words to many nursery rhymes. This book fits the bill. Nice illustrations too. Last but not least my baby and I love the cd which comes with the book, it is the best sounding children’s I’ve found so far, Katy ashworth has a nice voice and it’s very tuneful. We listen to it and I sing along every day and my baby loves it. Just wish they’d do another volume with some more nursery rhymes!

Such a lovely product - the production of the songs is great and they are sung beautifully. The illustrations are also fabulous. I have used it lots since purchase with my 6 month old and 5 year old and can see it being used for years to come.

Awesome selection of nursery rhymes i bought this in Feb 2017, my daughter is still engrossed in these. These songs are sung with simple but varied arrangements and a clear voice, which I could listen to happily myself, and not go mad with endless repeats! Just right for my 2 year old granddaughter who loves singing and following the book.

Lucy Cousins' Big Book of Nursery Rhymes I bought this book for a friend of mine, a French woman living in the UK who had just had a baby. She knows all the French nursery rhymes, but no English ones. This is great, all the rhymes I remember from my childhood and some I don't, beautiful illustrations, just right. The origins of the rhymes took a bit of explaining though!

Book is lovely, bought for CD more to play in the car. It is nice collection of songs but as someone else says some of the rhymes are sung different to what your use to, such ad three little pigs.

Love the illustration, layout and the size of the lyric board book. My 5m girl tries to turn pages of the book while hearing the sweet songs.

This was a Chanukah gift for my nursery-rhyme loving two-year-old and it has been a big hit! He's really enjoyed Lucy Cousins illustrations for a long time -- there is something really appealing about the cute animals and bright, vivid colors. This is a good sturdy book and the size is perfect with big bright illustrations. Both of my children like to listen to it and turn the pages of the book to follow along. My toddler loves being able to use the tabs to find his favorite nursery rhymes (we're currently on a Wee Willy Winkie kick). The CD is really enjoyable -- the singer has a lovely voice and each rhyme is sung twice. Some of the YouTube nursery rhyme videos are SO annoying, and this CD is not! I hear my kids singing some of the songs throughout the day. The nursery rhymes here are really well selected. Some will be familiar (Twinkle Twinkle, Mary Had a Little Lamb) and some less so (Baby Bunting). Some Mother Goose rhymes can feel a bit dated and have themes that I think are a little scarier for today's kids, but none of the ones in this book have concerned me or my children. I think traditional rhymes don't always get enough attention now that there are so many choices in literature and music for children, but they have such great value for early literacy. I would recommend this for ages 1-5.

Bel libro cartonato resistente, adatto anche per bimbi piccoli, colorato e corredato da tutti i testi. Ottima selezione di classiche nursery rhymes ben cantate. Mio figlio di 2.5 le adora, da quando è arrivato è il primo cd che accende il mattino e ascolta tutto il giorno. Ottima risorsa per l' esposizione all' inglese dei bambini piccoli. Piace anche a me.
