I am usually a size 8, but I ordered the 12/14 as had read these ran small. It fitted well, there was room in it, but not lots. The smaller size would have been way too small I imagine. It is big around the waist but it has a belt which I pinched in and stitched and it made a big difference to the overall look for me.
