I wanted a good quality analogue watch with lume dial
I wanted a good quality analogue watch with lume dial, water resistant to allow sea swimming etc.but didn't want an ash-tray size thing on my wrist but also wanted a decent size dial face. After much searching I found the Seiko 5 Automatic SNZG15K1. Some fanatics on the watch forums get hung up on whether the model is made in either Korea (SNZK) or Japan (SNZJ). To my mind this is irrelevant. I've had the watch just over a week and am 100% satisfied with it. The appearance and performance of the watch is fantastic. The lume dial and hands is good, lasting well in to the night ( I glanced at it at 2:00am when I happen to wake up and could read the dial clearly half asleep). My favourite design feature is the raised edge around the dial where the hour marker batons sit and the upside down triangle at the 12 o'clock position with its nod to military field watch design. Despite the current trend for NATO watch straps on field watches such as this I actually like the strap that the watch comes on. The brushed metal buckle is a decent size and matches the brushed finish to the watch bezel. The strap material itself is robust and having worn it on one run so far doesn't noticeably retain lots of sweat. Overall an excellent watch which looks classy and performs very well.

An excellent worker watch - recommended!
Used as a Day watch so I won’t damage my ‘posh’ watch. A really good looking field style watch - as you can see quite a large watch at 43mm (not including crown). Unlike the ‘usual’ Seiko 5 the crown is at 3oclock position . Although I only have a slim wrist (6.75 inches) it doesn’t hang over the edge so to speak. The lumes are bright and last all night. See photo to see the lume is on the hour markers the hands (although only a tiny dot on the second hand) I replaced the strap for a NATO strap mainly for security as the look seems better. I recommend this as a good ‘working watch’ - accurate to -0.5 second/ day so the accuracy is as good as a quartz (almost) but very good for a automatic mechanical watch, and almost better than a COSC watch (certified). The only (minor) niggle is the movement does not have hacking (ability to stop the second hand to match a time signal, but I’m being picky.

Great value for the money.
I was looking for a field watch as I mostly have divers style watches and wanted something a little different with no rotating bezel. I chose this watch over the newer Seiko 5 models due to its slightly larger diameter case and the 22mm lug width. I wear a Garmin with a 26mm strap width and I just don't enjoy going as narrow as 20 now days. I really like this watch because of it's aesthetics and it goes head to head in looks with much more expensive time pieces. Because I am constantly rotating my watches according to mood or activity I didn't want to lash out on something super expensive just to have it sit in its box. This Seiko is perfect for what I wanted. A great looking Field watch from a well established watch making brand. I had read the reviews complaining that the watch stops running over night but I have not had that issue. It was running on delivery and I gave it 30 seconds of "Seiko swing" before putting it on. Normal days activity, took the watch off at around 10pm and it was still running fine at 8am. I can't really speak for the accuracy of the watch as I haven't had it for very long. It has a work horse Seiko movement and I couldn't really be bothered if it's accurate or not. It's a living working machine with cogs and gears and must be appreciated for what it is. Not measuring time to the nearest second anymore has actually made me a happier person anyway. The lume on the watch is fabulous and compares very well with my Seiko and Citizen dive watches which are well known for good lume. My one complaint is the strap. I really wanted to like it and give it a fair chance after reading all the negative reviews on the strap. After wearing the watch for an entire afternoon I had to admit that it was cutting slightly into my wrist. I tried to soften the edges by reverse folding for a few minutes but it didn't help at all. I have changed the strap to a cordura fabric and soft leather one. Much more comfy. I would highly recommend this watch even though the strap isn't great. Typically I don't really care what strap the watch comes with because I have "the sickness" which forces me to change straps and even the time piece itself on a regular basis. Apparently the only cure is to buy another watch. Don't tell my wife.

Best Watch for the money and best watch for even 3 times more
Absolutely 100% Seiko, From the Seiko outer box to the Seiko inner box with plush black velvet cushions surrounding the watch and all proper tags and European warranty booklet and instructions etc all brand new and perfect. This is a watch for the European market so does not have made in Japan on the dial but I suspect the Japanese domestic market ones do not either.. You will hear alot of nonsense regarding these details. Rest assured this is a proper Seiko with European warranty. If you are the kind of person who wants to pay £60 extra on a £100 watch for a few letters then go ahead. Plus you have no real warranty if you do so but to be fair you most likely would not need it. A few comments were made about the strap, To be honest I was surprised how good it was , I have put a black leather one on and to me looks a lot beter but the original one is fine. I pretty much guarantee you will not find a better Automatic watch than this anywhere, Even for a lot more money than the retail price on this.

Dont buy this.
1st I have to say it is a lovely looking watch, not thick and clumsy in my opinion, I always admire its appearance but my wife says the face is a little too small. Delivery in good time. Watch appeared excellent. Had to remove 5 links as band is quite large. Hope it keeps good time. Loss of time is not such a problem as automatics do lose some time....its the failure of dates that is my problem here. Box was a little dated. I expected a nicer quality package for a seiko watch at £100.00. Watch day has now stopped turning over after 10 months use. I will see how the company deals with the fault and update this review. Always a risk using an overseas non-store supplier? Is it worth the risk. Update. Returned the watch which was repaired and came with a genuine Seiko repair docket. So i believe this is a genuine product. Seller was very helpful if slow to send back. Looks nice. Hope it continues working although I think id go for a solar watch nowadays as the need to constantly wear or lose power is annoying....I know it is part of the charm of a truly automatic watch but.... Watch has now failed again, the date wont turn over. I am awaiting sellers response and reducing my review. The company has so far been good but the watch may not be worth the risk, buy a modern Seiko without the risk that automatics present and the costs to keep sending back. Seller did not respond. so a £100 pound watch lasted just over a year. Getting it fixed out of warranty will be almost as much as I paid. It is not worth the risk buying this watch. Get a watch from a high street seller.

Very good and nice watch
Very nice military style watch. Fits very nice on my fist and I don't have large fists. Looks very nice and high quality particularly if you have in mind it's price. Easily looks like costing EUR 500. Pretty amazed with the look and quality. The strap is not as bad as some reviewers described it. Anyway, I ordered a Nato style leather strap for EUR 20. So basically spent around EUR 150 for the watch and leather strap. I am using the watch for 3 days so I cannot give opinion on how reliable is the mechanism, but it looks pretty accurate, around one or two seconds a day. Summarising: very happy with this product. Go for it if do you have any doubts. P.S. My Seiko5 Sports is not the one made in Japan, but after reading some reviews and using the watch for 3 days, I don't think it makes a difference as quality control is made by Seiko regardless where is assembled the watch.

Nice but annoying timepiece.
I've sent a few watches back to Amazon due to poor build quality or because of them just not looking as good as the photo but this one is the opposite, the picture doesn't do it justice and it has a nice solid but lightweight feel. I most like the glass, it's very clear indeed and the dial is simple but has all I need to know and the hands are markings are very luminous in the dark. Hearing a nice soft tick inside is nice too, you can even see the cogs through the perspex back! I shall buy a nice leather strap at some point but the one it comes with is smart enough for now. All in all, a very nice watch and a definite keeper. Additional edit: The watch appears to have no stored energy in the main spring. So you have to wear it every day for most of the day or it will stop overnight and you have to reset it. A battery version would make a lot more sense!

A good quality watch.
Had been wearing a lorus automatic watch for over 10 years, which kept near perfect time. Thought it was probably time to retire it. Bought two watches before this, but neither "felt" right. Third time lucky - this one feels perfect. The only down side is the nylon strap - my wrist spends alot of time in either water or sweat, and my experience of nylon straps is that they can get a tad smelly before too long. Swapped the strap for a black PU strap, and now delighted. The watch itself runs a little fast (couple of minutes a month maybe) - not sure if this is just till it beds down in terms of battery charge given use, may leave if it doesn't get worse, but will otherwise have adjusted. The watch has a nice big clear face. I thought the watch would be over-large for my wrist, but it's just perfect - very happy.

I am quite happy with it
So far I haven't had a single problem. The second hand fired up the instant I moved the watch, and it has kept relatively accurate time since, with the power reserve keeping the watch working during the night when it's off of my wrist. It is not hackable, but is still quite accurate and highly readable even to my aging eyes. The lume doesn't last long, unfortunately, but it works very well if you charge it in the Sun first. Definitely won't glow all night long. For my first mechanical watch, I am quite happy with it.

Piccole dimensioni, movimento automatico, aspetto classico elegante.

Classic quality seiko
Great seiko quality, fully waterproof and accurate. My wife loves the classic no bells and whistle design. She wears it daily! Well made and good quality at a great price. Shipped well packed and on time from China.

Magnifico Reloj
