RIDGID 30088 RC-2375 Aluminum 2" Ratchet Action Pipe and Tubing Cutter for Plastic and Multilayer Tubing, 1/8" to 2-3/8" O.D. Capacity, Small

Cuts through 1 1/2 inch inside diameter schedule 40 PVC like butter and the ends are very straight. Are they perfectly straight and perfectly flat, I'm not sure but they look very straight and are as straight if not straighter than the pre cut pieces at Home Depot and so far you don't have to deburr the cuts made with these like you do a little with the pre cuts at Home Depot. This is my first time using something like these and wish I was using these earlier. The material is definitely very high quality and feels like something you could use for years to come. I'm just a DIYer so I imagine this is a lifetime tool for me. My first 2 and only cuts so far came out way better than I thought they would and way better than I could ever do with a hacksaw and it's not even close. If you need to cut any PVC or other plastic based pipe or even rubber hoses, look no further, just get this and get that project done. If you see any reviews saying it cracked the pipe, they were very likely doing it in cold weather. It actually has a warning not to do it on PVC when it's less than 60 degrees Fahrenheit. This thing really works well. It is costly and the replacement blades are expensive as well (something like 35 USD per blade) so not the best tool for heavy/professional use, but perfect for a DIY project. I used it to cut some schedule 40 1-1/2" ABS pipe for our new bathroom vanity plumbing and it cut very well and easily. Edges were clean and no filing necessary. The only criticism I have at all is that it is designed for up to 2" pipe and so smaller pipe will not fit/fill the contour of the curved metal holder that well, making it harder to center it for a really straight cut. With some practice it became easier but still not easy to make a perfectly cross section type cut. Nonetheless, this beats using a sawzall, hacksaw, dremel, or other tool. If you have space and a work bench with clamp, a sawzall is perfectly fine but this tool is still easier and can be used in tight quarters (e.g. I used it to cut existing pipe under the sink). Excellent tool overall and it made my vanity installation that much easier so 5-stars from me.

Great cutters, up to 2” pvc, be careful with sch80 pipe though. You will need to replace the blade or sharpen regularly, I typically spray them down with wd40 often. They are good quality, blade change is easy. Highly recommend.

Many times, you get what you pay for. This tool is no exception. Rigid was the Original Gangster of metal pipe manufacturing and pipe cutting tools. Back in the day you could always trust Rigid. That seems to hold true today. I have a 35 year old rigid PVC pipe cutter that still cuts to this day, but it does have a nick in the blade.

(my fault) I’m on my 3rd pair of these cutters first purchased 11yrs ago - great quality, blade replacement is quick and painless Blades themselves hold edge n still cut straight even after misuse Lol -strong durable cutters -used as cutters hammer fitting prybar box tab cutters u name it I’ve put them thru it only time I’ve replaced is when the throat wears enough doesn’t seem to cut straight but stills cuts right thru pipe with ease …..that said not that great on 2”sch40 press.pipe but cuts foamcore like butter one handed

Ridgid tools are a cut above cheaper competitors and worth the extra cost. Sharp blade and clean cuts. Tight tolerances keep things accurate. Pro-level.

PVC-rör på 50mm går inte att klippa, de spricker istället, trots att det tydligt står att den skall klara både det materialet och grövre dimensioner. Jag fick ta fram bågfil istället. Eggen var lite krokig vilket ger ett ojämnt klipp.

Awesome pipe cutter!! For ABS or PVC no issues what so ever. It's sturdy, well built,cuts like butter and makes straight cuts,a must have in your toolbox!! 💯👌🏽

This is an awesome tool. I have been using the rothenberger ratchet cutter for a few years and was always disappointed that i could not cut 50mm waste pipe. This can cut 50mm with no trouble and all sizes down from that. It feels very sturdy in the hand and lets face it using Rigid tools makes you better than other people (in a very small area of society)
