Worth the extra over the copy version.
I opted for the genuine Makita base after being thoroughly disappointed with the copy Katsu version. The Katsu one I received had a warped plastic base and a misshapen metal base plate too. The plastic used on the Katsu version was also much softer and not likely to stay in good shape for any time. I am using this with a Katsu trimmer, which I am not disappointed with at all. As suggested by a reviewer on the Katsu version, this tilt base could also be used as a quick and handy way to mount either the Makita or Katsu under a table. Comparing the quality of this base to the Katsu equivalent has me leaning towards replacing each of the Katsu bases for Makita as time goes on. I already have the Makita 195562-2 Offset Base and a pair of Makita 195136-9 Parallel Guides which are the high quality I have come to expect from Makita.

very good piece of kit
does exactly what it says it will do. Really firm hold when tilted and with the square base it glides along a straight edge perfectly. You can also leave the trimmer in this tilt base and lock it to a vertical position. This is handy when you need to keep the square base on the trimmer instead of the circular base that comes with the trimmer. very good piece of kit. would recommend

Tilt mechanism is accurate and the swapping of bases is quick.
lightweight, yet quite strong. My 700C router fits quickly into this base. The tilt mechanism is handy when tapering corners of furniture and the degree of accuracy is very good. I'd buy this product again and recommend it. It's well built, as you'd expect a Makita product to be.

Bonne qualité
Je trouve la plaque de base qui est rectangulaire plus pratique que la ronde livrée avec le routeur. Je l'utilise quand je me guide par rapport à une règle. Il faut noter que l'angle est limité à 45°.
