The BEST Smart Lock Upgrade! Secure, Sleek, and Super Easy to Use! 🚪
I finally upgraded to the Yale Assure Lock 2 Deadbolt and I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner! This lock is an absolute game changer for convenience and peace of mind. First off, the installation was shockingly simple. The instructions were clear, and I had the old deadbolt out and the new Yale lock in place in under 15 minutes. It looks incredibly sleek and modern in the Satin Nickel finish—it instantly elevated the look of my front door. But the real magic is the performance. The digital touchscreen keypad is perfectly responsive and lights up nicely at night. I love that it’s keyless; no more fumbling with keys when my hands are full of groceries! The Bluetooth connectivity makes setting up and managing access codes through the Yale Access App a breeze. I can assign unique codes to family, friends, or services, and easily revoke them whenever necessary. The quality of the build feels solid and durable—it's a high-security Yale lock, so I know my home is protected. Even without the Wi-Fi module (it uses Bluetooth, as indicated), the smart features are exactly what I need for daily access control. If you are thinking about making the switch to a smart lock, THIS IS THE ONE! It delivers on security, style, and amazing functionality. Highly recommend!

Much more reliable than my old electronic locks
I bought this to replace a Keyvo lock (Bluetooth lock with very vulnerable cylinder) and an Obsidian Lock. The Keyvo was very unreliable and would sometimes crash and proceed to drain the battery and the final straw was the app was being de-commited. The Obsidian was better, but would sometimes get sluggish and take forever to respond. The Yale Assure Lock2 has been much better than either Kwikset lock I had. It is very responsive and it is much faster to get in than Obsidian. It is very reliable. I had to enlarge holes slightly because the Yale is much fussier on hole alignments, but I got it together.

Secure, Sleek, and Very Convenient
I’ve been using the Yale Assure Lock 2 for a while now, and it has made a big difference in everyday convenience and home security. The keyless entry is super easy to use, and the keypad responds quickly every time. I love not having to worry about carrying keys anymore. Installation was straightforward, and the satin nickel finish looks modern and premium on the door. The lock feels solid and well-built, and it operates smoothly without any issues. Battery life has been good so far, and the app setup was simple and intuitive. Overall, this is a reliable and stylish smart lock that adds both security and peace of mind. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade to a keyless entry system.

Works well, including the nine volt battery backup
It's been 9 months since I purchased and installed this lock. Be advised, properly prepping a door to accept a deadbolt is essential. In my case, whoever prepped my door didn't do it perfectly. That wasn't a problem for a traditional deadbolt, but it did complicate threading the electrical connection and lining up the bolts with the other side to allow them to screw in properly. Initially, I had no problem getting the lock setup and door sense calibrated using the iOS app, but when I decided to recalibrate the lock, the app wouldn't allow calibrating of door sense. I ended up having to use the Android app to recalibrate. Recently, I changed the door sense magnet from the exposed position to the hidden position and had to recalibrate door sense. The iOS app had no issues recalibrating. I deducted one star because I don't know if the calibration issue is an intermittent problem, if Yale fixed the problem with an update to the app, or if there was an incompatibility with a previous iOS version. With the Bluetooth model, as long as you are in Bluetooth range, you can use the app to: (1) Know if the lock is locked or unlocked, (2) know if the door is ajar or closed as long as door sense is installed and activated, (3) remotely lock and unlock the door, and (4) add, remove and modify door codes. You can lock the door when you leave and auto unlock will unlock the door whenever you are back in Bluetooth range. I have never used the auto lock function. The auto unlock function does not require the app to be open, but your phone's Bluetooth must be on. I was discussing the pros and cons of the lock and was sent a screenshot of one of the reviews. The reviewer said a nine volt battery will not connect to the backup power terminals. Those contacts are not designed to actually attach the battery to them. Instead, you have to hold the battery against them. When I removed the batteries to do a test to see if it worked, I was a little concerned because there was initially no response. I then discovered holding the nine volt battery against the contacts for a few seconds longer resulted an a sound and then I was able to open the lock with a code. It is quite possible the reviewer had a defective unit, but using a nine volt battery did work for me. I cannot confirm the absence or presence of a low battery warning because the original batteries are still going strong after nine months. With the Bluetooth only model, the is no alert regarding any change in the status of the door or lock. Only users who have the Yale connected over the internet can say if they are alerted of any change. The Bluetooth only version will however send a message whenever auto unlock is activated. UPDATE: Yesterday, about 16 months after installation, I received a notification stating the batteries on my Yale lock were critically low. Oddly, the app did not send a notification directly to the device containing the app. Instead, an e-mail was sent from yalehomeus.com. Of note, that day and a few days previously, the lock was slow to automatically unlock on arrival back into Bluetooth range. When that happened, I launched the Yale app thinking I needed to use it to unlock the door. Although the lock did unlock automatically and I never needed to use the app, it's not clear if, in the case of the Bluetooth model, a notification of low batteries will be sent to the app anytime the batteries are low or only when the app is actually opened. There is a slight concern over privacy because the lock is not directly connected to the internet at all times, yet an e-mail was sent regarding the battery status. For 16 months, the lock has functioned perfectly with a 5 star performance, but I am keeping the 4 star rating because of the uncertainty of the need to open the app to receive a low battery message and the possible privacy issue.

Terrible Company, Do NOT Buy the Keyless Version
Some lessons are learned the hard way and I should have known better than to buy an electronic lock without a backup key. I bought FOUR of the keyless version for a new build. Setup was easy, if you know how to hold a screwdriver you will be fine. Setup with the app is also easy, however for each lock something minor would go wrong - sometimes the calibration would fail and you just have to redo it, sometimes it would lose connection with the lock, sometimes a step would take forever and I would put my phone down for a minute and do something else. It wasn't a problem until I got to the last lock, and it somehow froze during the setup process. I thought to myself it's not a big deal, something went wrong every other time and they worked just fine (the first two locks I had actually installed months prior and they were fine). Not this time, however. When I re-opened the app, the app had saved the last lock with a default name that was the same as the main lock to the guest house that I had installed months ago. Well guess what - for some reason now the app wasn't working with either lock, and the guest house was locked with no way in. I called customer support. Their answer - there is nothing we can do about this. Drill the lock. That's what they told me to do. Unbelievable. Oh, and they refused to refund me for the locks, my time, a locksmith, or the door should it break. They offered to let me apply for a warranty claim. When I asked if I could at least get the version with the backup key, they said "that is not possible". Best part is, I was able to actually drill into the lock and open the door, despite having no idea what I was really doing, without putting a scratch on the door itself. I immediately removed all 4 locks and threw them in the trash and they are being replaced with something that has a backup key from another company who keypad locks I have had forever without any issue. I would never risk buying something from this company again.

Great Keypad Door Lock!
I’m very happy with this keypad door lock. Installation was quick and easy, and the instructions were clear. The keypad works perfectly — the buttons are responsive, and the code is easy to set and change. The lock feels sturdy and secure, giving me much more peace of mind. I also love that I don’t have to carry keys anymore. The design looks modern and fits nicely with the door. Overall, excellent quality and a great upgrade for home security!

Effective, reliable, secure, compatible with Zwave 700 module
Reliable. Batteries last a long time with regular use (installed ~3 months ago, still at 74% for the front door used many times daily). Requires WiFi and cloud for initial setup, but can then delete the app afterword. You do need the app if you want to wirelessly control it via Bluetooth without any added modules. Critically, this is compatible with the Z-wave 700 series module, model AYR-MOD-ZW3, which can be found on EBay (see photo 3). This has allowed local-only control of the doors via Home Assistant. Once you give up control of the lock via the Yale app, it is easy to add the lock to Home Assistant with the Z-Wave JS UI integration. DoorSense is now innately compatible with the 700 series module with no extra setup outside basic installation (see photo 3), and instantly shows up as an entity in Home Assistant. In addition to a door open/closed entity, it also has battery % entity. Even from within Zwave JS UI without other helper scripts/automations, you can setup auto-lock features and maintain many different codes. Also, the black color matches any matte-black handles out there, including the Schlage handle seen in photos.

Yale Lock — Reliable with Zigbee in Home Assistant, Not so much with Bluetooth
I purchased this Yale lock (bought 2 and another one with a fingerprint sensor) as part of my quest for a keyless home in early 2024. The main reason I chose this model was its design, which I like best among the others. Initially, I bought it without the Wi-Fi module and integrated it into Home Assistant via Bluetooth. Since the purchase, I’ve contacted Yale customer service three times: first about a missing door sensor (which I later found inside the box), second with an installation question about the door sensor (they referred me to the instructions), and third for a factory reset (they remotely reset the device for me). In all cases, their responses were quick and mostly helpful. Recently, I grew frustrated with slow responses from Home Assistant commands, so I added a Zigbee module, which has been working nicely. Battery life has also been solid. The original set lasted about 8 months to a year (depending on usage). My second set—Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries—has been lasting much longer, possibly due to a firmware update or simply better batteries.

Not compatible in Australia
This product is not suitable for use in Australia. After communicating with Yale Australia, Yale USA I have had to uninstall the complete lock system, package it & return it. This product should never be sold in Australia. It is solely for use in the USA & is incompatible with the configuration software required to make the lock functional.
