It thins slightly with body heat so apply some wait and gently rub it in. Others mix it, but I think thats a waste & may affect its outstanding performance. It just takes a few minuets patience and your are set for the day. I personally have not found it drying. Softening yes - guessing from the bee's wax? I think this product is magic!!!
