I still use an old pound coin for lockers, trolleys, etc. Can this keyring hold one of these?

Yes it can, but if it doesn't work on lockers you can use the claw end of a claw hammer to burst the locker, as for the trolleys you can always run a truck over them or chain them all together in revenge. That's what I do and it works every time but some supermarkets have asked me not to come back. SHIHUM
