This will be an all-time classic
I bought this for myself years ago and loved it. Faithfull to the original, and such a tremendous work! Imagine over 200 pages of thoroughly illustrated images, well researched, several per page! You can see the love for the originialI introduced it to my 6 year old son half a year ago, and he reads in it every day. I have read it out loud for him 2 times all the way through. His favourite book of all books is the Illiad by Garerth Hinds (which I have read for him every day for months now at his request, some passages he just cannot get enough of). It also made me pick up the original Homer again, appreciating it in a new way

A triumph!
Bought it for my 11 year old grandson who doesn't read much. He loved it! the illustrations are dynamic and gripping and it gives a very wide jouirney though the Odyssy. It includes incidents that I was not aware of, getting across the complex emotional and spiritual aspect of the story.

A Fresh Take on a Classic!
The Odyssey: A Graphic Novel makes Homerโs classic story way more fun and easy to get into. The artwork is awesome and really brings Odysseusโs adventures to life. Itโs a great read for students, mythology fans, or anyone who wants a fresh take on an old classic. I have given it 4 stars because I havenโt finished it yet.

Addictive read
This was a gift for my son who is a reluctant reader. However once he started it he wouldn't put the book down and read it start to finish in one day!

Excellent for all ages
This graphic novel was a perfect way to introduce my five year old son to reading and ancient Greek myths. The pictures allowed him to visualise the story and therefore better understand the plot. He could associate the text easily with the correct character as the pictures aided his understanding and at the same time helping maintain his interest in the story. The graphic novel is lengthy so it represented good value for money and allowed the author to retell Homer's epic in a thorough way. The artwork was skillfully drawn, however it was a little bland. But this is a very minor negative of what was overall, an excellent purchase.

Superbly well done
Incredibly well done! Very impressed with this and the graphic Iliad. I'm sure these books were created for adults or teens, but preteen Greek mythology geeks will also love this version of the Odyssey (less certain about the Iliad). My daughter has read both this and Iliad multiple times, especially this one. The Iliad is really gruesome and less interesting as a story. The Odyssey is of course a strong, classic story even though it can be slow and meandering by modern standards. Having it so masterfully done in graphic form is just a perfect way to enjoy it. Just because it's graphic doesn't mean it is simplistic. I think strong or older readers will get a lot more out of this book than many preteens--It ain't Percy Jackson. But for the right kid (like mine), great choice! As for it's sister the Iliad, she cared about collecting both books and will probably still be re-reading them in her 20s so money well spent.

Not appropriate for young kids
I was shocked after I flipped a few pages. There are many naked pictures and pornography. Definitely not appropriate for young kids or youth. Need to return immediately.
