I bought a much cheaper entry level combo to start my fly fishing career and while I wasn't really looking to upgrade to the "next level" I did want something a bit nicer than what I had. Enter the Redington Trout Field Kit.I have been very happy with this kit so far. The rod is nice and casts well, the fly line that comes with it is a premium line unlike a lot of kits that come with junk line, and Redintgon and the brands under the Farbank umbrella are brands that I trust. It's a bit more expensive than some other starter kits out there, but when you factor in the immediate upgrades you'll inevitably want to make with a cheaper kit, I highly recommend this one.

The rod is better than the reel but it’s a neat package and does the job as a travel starter saltwater fly kit. I’m yet to catch anything big but it’s handling the smaller stuff with ease. It’s a nice looking bit of kit and a great hold-all.

I bought this to replace my $400.00 fly rod that was stolen from my house. Didn't want to spend a ton of money on a new rod, and found this kit that included the reel. Since my reel was 20 years old, I figured I'd update everything. Nice rod and nice reel. Bonus that it comes with everything you need, except for the flies of course. Both the rod and the reel are high quality, as is the line. Already spooled on the reel with backer, saving me the trouble. I'm happy with the purchase and may buy a second kit for my wife. Good value for the price and what you get. Very satisfied.

Item is great for both the beginner or experienced fly fisherman. It is a great value and complete for an out of the box trip.
