It's gentle and has no fragrance. A couple years ago I briefly used a prescription shampoo, which did help, but in hopes of preventing the problems from returning, I started using Mother Dirt shampoo and have had good results. Its ingredients include none of the compounds I have diagnosed contact allergies to.The company says using this shampoo can reduce the frequency you need to wash your hair, though that hasn't been the case for me. I have quite oily hair and shampoo every day with Mother Dirt. I now wash my hair no more than twice a week, usually just once. From my observation, my hair appears healthier without any kind of shampoo or conditioner residue. My hair is very straight, but using Mother Dirt, it stays more lightweight and feels so clean for close to a week now. I tried going back to my old shampoo and conditioner but had to turn around and wash my hair again with Mother Dirt the next day. Just reordered. I've been using this shampoo for 2+ years but it doesn't seem to be working nearly as well for my psoriasis as it used to. To be fair I have yet to find a shampoo that really does, they're all varying degrees of 'less bad.' Guess it's back to the drawing board (again). I don't want to take off any more than 1 star in case there's another reason for that. This shampoo is somewhat drying, though, and my hair gets oily again quickly, especially if I don't use a hair dryer. I mainly gave it 5 stars originally because of the psoriasis improvement, which is nearly impossible to find in a shampoo so I'm willing to put up with other issues.EDIT: They fixed the container so it doesn't spill everywhere anymore :) thank you! I have searched far and wide for years for a shampoo that helps improve my psoriasis and THIS IS IT!!ORIGINAL: This shampoo is amazing and I highly recommend!
