what is the sharpenable casing made of? It doesn’t look like wood

Lindsey, The closest I can get to a description of the product and the materials used is - the eyeliner is a gel or gel wax compound and the enclosing outer sheath is made from a tinted wood plastic composite which allows for smooth sharpening. Hope this helps.
