Handles congestion very well.
Simple version:It has been handling the network demands for my Xbox One, Mac, HP, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, and a few guest devices with no stumbles, stutters, or failures, including when I use AirPlay or my iPhone as a remote. Quick and reliable.Story version:As my previous dual-band 802.11ac router (the DIR-820l) showed consistent signs of struggling to handle Apple TV and other streaming video demands, I searched for a model with an even greater performance that wasn't targeted at gamers and cost $200+.At first glance, this model had attractive features: dual-core 64-bit CPU, 2.4GHz and 5GHz band support, gigabit Ethernet, triple antennas, etc). I felt confident, even at a higher price than preferred. However, I've seen it all before and always read at least some reviews claiming "garbage," "drops out," "needs to be rebooted constantly," and so on. Nonetheless, I decided to chance it, assuming I could do the return option, if needed, and try something else. Thankfully, I'm completely satisfied. Not only have the connection drops and inadequate buffering stopped during Apple TV use, operations among devices (e.g., using my iPhone as a remote) are faster and smoother than before.UPDATE: I just wanted to add, after seeing some of the other low rated reviews, my unit is still going strong a year-and-a-half later. Zero complaints thus far, and I hope that feeling continues for at least a few more years.

Setup is a breeze, update adds homecare
I just hooked this up to a new xfinity line, along with a new Netgear CM500 cable modem. The whole process was a breeze, including getting the cable modem to work.Focusing on this wireless router (A2300), the TPlink Tether iPhone app is impressively smooth and easy to use. It’s all you really need to get the router updated and then properly setup. It would have been better if it asked me to update the firmware first before asking me to set it up—I had to set it up again, but that was a breeze, even with separate settings for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks.BTW, they say that this A2300 version is cheaper than C2300 because it does not have homecare security, but it actually has it. Not sure if homecare was added after the firmware update. But basically it seems these two devices are the same. In any case, as much as I love Trend Micro, I’m not sure I will be using the homecare features.

The TP-Link AC2300 is easy to install, clear directions and boosts your signal very far!
The router works really great especially if you are trying to hook up a couple of cottages to get Wi-Fi. Emails work the best. This is the second one we've purchased (we manage cottage rentals on Lake Huron). Its very hard to get a signal and this router works better than anything we've purchased in the past.

NOT RECOMMENDED! Unit failed in four months--customer support is a nightmare.
UPDATE:Eventually TP-Link fixed the RMA issues, and I got my new unit. It's still in the box where it will remain until I sell it or I need a back-up.NOT RECOMMENDED!Unit arrived with such bad firmware installed that it barely worked at all. That a unit would ship with such atrociously bad firmware is inexcusable. After a firmware upgrade, it worked fine for just four months, then the WAN port failed, rendering the unit useless.TP-Link customer support walked me through testing to see for themselves that the unit had failed, and a couple of days later the technician provided RMA information. But the RMA system is horrible. I have tried for four days to get the RMA authorization to go through, in various browsers and on different devices, and each time the system claims that the provided "...RMA Number does not exist."Worse, customer support seems unwilling to acknowledge that the problem is on their end. I keep getting, "Did you try a different browser or a different device," and "Did you type in this RMA number..." They evidently think I'm stupid, and I do not appreciate it.For the moment, I'm stuck with a failed-under-warranty unit that I can't return because of TP-Link's support incompetency.NOT RECOMMENDED!

TP-Link Archer A2300 - Good speed, great price but not the quickest to set up
Faster and more stable than my old Archer C7. But setup took much longer than my past experiences with C5 & C7. Tether app could not detect the router after connection, I ended up using web access through wi-fi coonection. This model is sold for much less than the identical router Archer C2300.

Much better the netgear product!!!
In the past 10 years, I've been use NetGear routers and the experience was SUCK! (constantly having no internet connection, extreme low internet speed, and etc). After switching TP-Link, I am getting no problem with my Internet at all for past 4 months. It's super stable and the range is even better than my previous owned Netgear NightHawk X6.

Worked great, then didn't, tech support is terrible
Out of the box the product worked great, but after a couple of months it started dropping connection intermittently. This got progressively worse and before I unplugged it, it was happening about once an hour. Worse yet, once it dropped the connection it would 'freeze up' and you couldn't get to the admin app to check anything out so the fix was a hard reboot (unplug and replug). I put an old router back in place and the internet connection has been stable, so I know the router was the problem. TP Link tech support would not listen to my analysis and insisted on putting the router back in place and going through a trouble shooting procedure. Total waste of my time. I am an IT professional and know how to troubleshoot better than any first line support person with a standard script in hand. I even updated the firmware before calling tech support and still had the problem. Bottom line, the product worked well when it worked but don't count on any fast resolution or an easy refund/exchange if you have problems. I will not be buying any more TP Link products.
