It didn't work for hard stone polishing!
I gave this a try because of the low cost, compared to what I usually use. The 5 gran syringes of .25 micron diamond paste sell for about $11.50, and here was 40 grams for for about one dollar more. It was a disaster. I do lapidary work, and in this case I was polishing some very hard Jasper pieces. Hard stone typically polishes to a mirror finish more easily than soft stone, and on these pieces I progressed through my normal polishing steps. I use a combination of steel, and resin bond laps, and finally hard felt laps charged with Diamond paste. I had a number of pieces to do so I started with a 325 grit lap, then 500, 800,1200,1500,3000, then go to the ,25 micron (14,000 grit) diamond paste. Jasper begins to look shiny with the 800 grit and is beautiful after the 3000. The diamond paste puts a real finishing gloss on it. Halfway through, I ran out of the pink paste from the syringe and recharged the same felt lap with this product. Much to my dismay, the next pieces I did went completely dull. They appear to have been scratched by this diamond paste. To recover their gloss, I had to go all the way back to the 800 grit lap to polish out the scratches. Unfortunately, it is also destroyed that lap because there is no way to ever get it out of the felt. It cost me a lot of time redoing pieces, Plus I have to throw away a $50 lap. Turns out to not be such a bargain. It may work great on metal, but not on stone!

Great compound...
The paste is great, a really fine finishing polish and gave a keen edge to the blade. I can shave a single hair though that's a pointless achievement... Only complaint, which is minor really, but the container had leaked slightly when it arrived. I'm in Japan and suspect this was from heat expansion, but it's a very messy compound when it gets where you didn't plan...
