I bought these for my small home network stack. I love that it can keep the whole stack up while getting the generator running.

Very pleased. It has 8 outlet plugs and protects our office electronics from shutting down. We get electrical surges about every 1-2 weeks in our neighborhood. The electricity goes out for 5-10 seconds. It is a real problem. That means everything that uses electricity goes off including desktops, printers, internet modem, and appliances. And they have to be rebooted. Sometimes work is not saved. It may take an hour to set everything back up. It is not good for these electronics and appliances. Our neighbor has 5 of these USPs and told us to order this exact UPS. The peace of mind and tremendous savings of time is well worth the price.

My unit failed after 2 days' use. I spent a couple hours on the phone with an APC representative, and after troubleshooting, he concluded that the unit was defective. However, he also told me that the Be650g1 and the 650VA are two different models, and that (based on the serial number) the one I was sent was the g1, not the VA. If what APC told me is accurate, then the listing for this item is misleading. Also, as another reviewer mentions, some of the openings for plugs will not accept a three-pronged plug, even though they look like they should.
