Great product. Well-designed, safe, easy to use and pretty good value.
Great product. Very easy to operate. I think some of the negative reviewers here may have been applying too much pressure, as I didn't have any issues with cuts or scratches. There is no need to apply any pressure at all - just run it lightly over the skin and let the blades do the work. It does say in the instructions that it is designed to work with minimal pressure. I used it dry and showered afterwards. I was a bit concerned that it would be too short - I'm quite tall at 6'7" - but I found it long enough for me. It would probably be a bit cumbersome if it was much longer. I'm not sure how long the blades will last but from what I've seen of other user reviews they last quite a while, so hopefully that will turn out to be accurate. I'm very impressed with the Bakblade 2.0 plus and would certainly recommend it if you're looking for a DIY back hair removal solution. It comes with a spare set of blades, a useful suction cup storage hanger and a cleaning brush, and also folds in half so it will be easy to pack for travelling. It also has the unexpected bonus of being a very effective back scratcher! ** TWO MONTH UPDATE ** I felt I should update my review now I've lived with the BakBlade 2.0 plus for a while. I am deducting 2 stars from my original rating to take account of the fact that the blades do not last very long. They are good for one or two shaves but after that they no longer provide a close shave and need replacing. I have used the shaver wet and dry. I will say that removing the blades after each use and cleaning them with the brush provided does seem help, and also I think the life of the blades may depend on the thickness of your back hair. The hair on my lower back is fairly light, so the blades seem to be able to deal with it for multiple shaves, but the hairs on my upper back are very thick and the blades can't cope with it after one shave. Also, I have still not had any issues with cuts and scratches, so I definitely think it's a technique issue if you're experiencing that. I have just ordered 12 replacement blades at a cost of £40 and will see how long they last. It may just be an issue with the blades that came with the shaver.

Is the Bakblade any good?
So going to gym training...not particularly bodybuilding but anyway....if you train being waxed or shaved chest, back and arms enhances you, well that's the limit I will go to. So to get waxed you will probably pay absolute minimum £30 for that and probably triple that depending where you go. So does Bakblade do the job? Well I did research on youtube as I think a lot of us do, And people were raving about it. How quick and effortless smooth etc. My conclusion have to using it wet with some dove soap and water (same as what I shave with) is that it does work effortlessly, takes hair off easily and safely in no time at all. I have moles not really protruding but it didn't cut them did see bit of scrape/ blade rash nothing to write home about. Obviously doing your front (Careful round nips of course) the blade holder can come of and you can use it that way but I just left it on the stick. So final conclusion...I thought the price around £50 seemed a bit steep when purchasing it as looking and looking at it you would probably guess it would be about £25 -£35 and the quality looks good/ok . You get 2 blades already installed and 2 spare. Apparently on YouTube they last ages. So for the price of getting waxed perhaps once and the ease of use compared to any other electric bodyshave or regular small wet blade's..yes it's worth it I expect it and the spare blade's to last quite some time. But would you really need the 3 blade device. The 2 blade's work excellent.... perhaps if you were mega hairy even then I'm not sure you'd need three.

Quite expensive but does the job efficiently
Great! Does the job with a minimum of fuss. The only thing better would be someone to do it for you!

Great product, very effective at what it does, but handle is weak
UPDATE: the handle broke yesterday as I pressed down on my back. I had seen this coming for a while. Just ordered the new Elite edition, hopefully that will be better. ORIGINAL: I don't often write reviews, but this product is so good I really have to. After having skin rashes from a waxing session last year I decided I needed to find another way of clearing my back hair. Hair removal creams and the like were potential solutions but I read enough accounts of skin burning to put me off them - plus I didn't really want to use chemicals. So finally I settled on giving Bakblade a go. I was apprehensive about whether the blade would cut into my skin but in reality I had nothing to worry about. Within 10 minutes of the item being delivered I had already dry-shaved the hair off half of my back! The blades are sharp but if you've got normal skin (i.e. not over-sensitive) you should be fine. You don't need to press really hard, let the blades do the work. Obviously they're not as sharp as a razor you'd use for your face, so you may have to swipe more than once on a given area. I found that quickly cleaning the blades after EVERY swipe (just removing the large hairs) really helps in terms of technique. The blades can be detached from the head, which allows for using in areas where the handle would make things difficult. But to be honest, the 3-blade combo works much better than a single blade in terms of removing hair. One final tip - the blades are scraping your skin as you go, so your skin will be feeling a little rough afterwards. I used some aloe vera + tea tree oil on my skin to soothe it down.

Fantastic - finally, a great solution
Firstly, let me state that I am a hairy guy - and while I trim my chest and body to keep it under control, I don’t like the back hair at all. I find it unsightly, but difficult to manage effectively. I’ve had various electric trimmers, and found the Mangroomer to be the best of those - I’ve had 2. I also tried waxing - very expensive, time consuming and painful - and it doesn’t last I was always a little sceptical of the wet/dry blade shavers, as I thought they would be painful/unconfortable. How wrong I was. I cannot praise this BakBlade enough. I’ve had it for a few weeks now, and it has changed my world 🤣. Firstly, it is easy to use - very ergonomic, and easy to get to all the right places. Secondly, and most importantly - the result it gives is the best I have ever had. ..even compared to when my partner has shaved my back using the electric trimmers. This is by far the closest shave, and lasts me about 10 days before I need to do it again. Thirdly and finally, the kit you get is just excellent - 2 replacement blades and a nifty little sucker gadget that allows you to hang and store the BakBlade in the shower nice and neatly. For anyone who has a hairy back, take my word for it - get one of these. You won’t regret it.

Good but pricey
It works very well and is much easier to use than my previous back razor. Its a bit pricey for what it is, but does the job.

MY MONKEY HAS GONE!
OH WOW! So I never write reviews ...... blah, blah yeah we’ve heard it all before but truly I don’t. I literally got my monkey, bak-shaving thingy today. I was going to wait but I NEEDED to see how this bad boy works. Yeah, I have a hairy back. A hairy front, hairy shoulders and a (fortunately) hairy beard. Did my hairy back bother me? Yeah! I can admit it. I’d never take my top off, was ashamed and in truth, it dented my confidence. Especially when I managed to lure a cave girl back to the den. I’ve tried creams, stinky and rubbish. I’ve tried standard razors ...... stubbly and actually worse than a hairy back imo. So this. This! I was hoping would be my salvation and it didn’t disappoint. I literally just went to town on my back. Gently, mind you and THAT is key. I thought “how could this possibly work, dry” but oh my. Yeah, I had to go back and forth a few times whilst I got used to it but ...... WOW! Seriously! Wow! What I am most shocked about and truly chuffed is the fact that my back is SMOOOOOTH! I keep stroking it now *checks again* in a really gentle, almost borderline lover-like fashion and YES! Smooth as a ..... well, something seriously smooth. Have a hairy back? Tired of stinky flamin’ creams, naff razors, uncomfortable chats at the female dominated salons and crappy confidence ..... BUY THIS! I’m so glad I did. ....... strokes back again to feel smoothness ....... mmmmmmm 😉 NOTE I see a lot of feedback about cuts and I have to say, be gentle. Let the Bakblade to all the work and let it glide across your skin with almost zero pressure or effort. I don’t think the blades will last many shaves but happy to keep buying replacements for such a wonderful job well done. Also, it took minutes. No faff either. Shave, shower, smoooooth. I hope you all enjoy new found back smoothness. Excellent job, Bakbladers.

Worth taking a chance!
I took a chance as I was very doubtful this would work well, but it’s amazing! I never thought I could do this myself. It’s very sharp and the blades are large, so you have to go very slow and be very careful, but I’ve used it dry multiple times and have had great results with no cuts! If this is something that you struggle with I highly recommend taking a chance. It is very liberating to be able to do this myself and not have to rely on anyone. Also, I would recommend the electric shaver from Panasonic for other trimming. It’s very high quality and much better than the Phillips product. I use that on the lowest setting and I’m very happy with the clean, natural results. Combined with the product, I’m now fully sorted.

It's just what you've always wanted!Back hair!
In my ripe old age of 32 I have noticed that a forest has grown and attached itself to my back over the past 5 years or so, apparently trying to aid in insulating my body here in the frozen north. Even though this is appreciated on the odd -40°C day, I have yet to wish it present on the 2.5 days a year I find myself brave enough to relinquish my shirt and strut my regal winter body. A thicketed back could entice Yeti females during mating season but the human variety seem to disagree in this fashion and I for one agree with them. A built-in shrubbery not being the best aphrodisiac for women, I finally decided to purchase the Bakblade 2.0. So today I recieved it and tried it out. I first buzzed down most of the hair with a trimmer because no matter how good the blade I'm not going to hack away at it like a floor hockey tournament. Doing this will save you time and less money spent on blades. I'm very impressed with how few attempts it took to shave down a good chunk of my back. I did it dry as I need a bigger mirror in my shower to see what I'm doing. My skin did not feel itchy or dry afterwards but the shower after may have aided that. I'm sure shaving in the shower will have even better results as that's how I shave my head and face. I went over it all again to make sure I didn't miss anything and I didn't. This maneuver usually results in cuts from my face razor but this Bakblade left NO cuts. The video reviews on YouTube kinda threw me off as the cuts were really nasty looking. Thankfully that wasn't the case with me, could be because I'm used to using a razor on my back or maybe because I buzzed the larger portion off first. My back is now ready for all of life's burdens once again and looking is better than ever. Buy the Bakblade 2.0. No really do it now. Why are you reading this when you could be enjoying your new silky smooth back? Its probably too late for your wife to care but your new girl will be impressed!

Effective but overpriced
It does what it claims but is way overpriced for what it is. The cost should be no more than 40-50$

Absolutely great device
Normally i would make a plus/ minus list but there are honestly very few. I was on the fence about getting this but its really a great handy device. I was however very careful because it is really really sharp. They took measure to not cut regular skin but with moles and similar skin tags etc. it will shave it off if you are not careful. So for a few plus/ minus points id say: + reasonably cheap + comes with a spare knife set + replacement knives not too expensive + very very sharp + handy foldout extension for the hard to reach spots + comes with cleaning brush A few negatives are: - sometimes too sharp
