Why does the cat litter box start to turn as soon as it is plugged in?

Because when plug in the litter box, the machine will perform a power-on self-test. The drum will rotate a full circle automatically. Wait for it to return to Home position, then the unit is ready for use.

Does the litter box require assembly? Can it be done by myself?

No tools are required to install or disassemble the MeoWant cat litter box! You don't have to worry about being unable to operate by one person, it is specially designed for lazy owners, one person can easily complete assembly, disassembly and cleaning.
