Kinivo 360BNT 4K HDMI Switch (3 Port with Toslink, 4K 60Hz)

The device worked just as described for about three months - easy, simple, no problems. There was no detectable video or audio degradation, and it made stripping the audio out to send to my old-fashioned hi-fi stack a breeze. Unfortunately, after a few months the audio output stopped working - one afternoon I went to watch The Dirty Dozen and the HDMI switching still worked, but there was absolutely no audio output from either the Aux or Toslink jacks. I followed all the basic directions for trying to get it working (the usual 'perhaps the user has been an idiot' suggestions, which *do* normally tend to fix things), but nothing helped. At this point I contacted Kinivo's customer service describing my problem, and they offered to send me a replacement. And it showed up literally two days later! Keep in mind, this was well outside the return period (and I didn't attempt to request one) and they didn't have any proof that the issue was covered under warranty, but nevertheless they sent one out to me post-haste. Excellent work; I went from frustrated to relieved and they've got a satisfied customer leaving a comment - which I almost never do.

This is an excellent product! It did exactly as advertised. I bought it because my new 22 inch MSI monitor had no built in speakers or option for audio output. Through the Kinovo HDMI coverter and audio extractor, I now have sound, plus extra HDMI inputs for anything I wish to connect and a remote control to switch inputs without having to manually do it. It's a very simple set up and it just works. It's sleek looking too. I'm satisfied.

The one star reviews lay it out repeatedly. Works great initially, started to lag then no signal. Exactly what happened with mine too. Installed the first week of March. Within a few weeks it started to break up video and distort audio. The issues became increasingly frequent and within two more weeks no signal at all. Customer support is infuriatingly slow and clearly not in an English speaking Country so no help there. This thing is a $55 door stop and should be advertised as such.

I bought a new TV and for some reason the HDMI out from my old HDMI switch didn’t work with the new TV but this one works great.

This works as expected, including the Toslink digital audio output. However, only 4 stars because of the design - Toslink audio cables are thick and impossible to hide, so the socket should be on the rear of the unit instead in the side. There is a helpful instruction leaflet (!) which saved me a lot of frustration because it warned me that the automatic HDMI switching will NOT work with Roku devices because they always output a signal even when on standby (not in use). The remote control is needed to switch between HDMI inputs, so make sure that the piece of plastic packing that insulates the battery is removed before use.
