Our stove is coated metal on the outside (with a cast iron hob). Its robust and will tolerate being left out overnight as long as it's dried out afterwards. Long term, we don't advise leaving it out in the elements, since rust 'never sleeps' and will eventually degrade the finishes, and water can saturate the lining. We sell a stovebag which is designed to be highly weather resistant. When not in use we recommend storing it dry, undercover, a shed is fine. I have used it to sit around on my covered decking area burning 1.5 foot hazel sticks. It only provides ample heat in this way if the flames are above the stove. It has been used all summer and there is no sign of degrading ware. Hours at a go no problem. I intend to get another next summer to have two pots on the go. This Product is awesome. The ease at which it can be used is amazing. Fuel consumption is minimal. A few good long sticks and I boiled water and cooked my dinner. The heat output is intense. I placed my griddle on top and it sizzled away nicely. Even the ends away from the fire we're nice and hot. Solid, well built, I really like this and am looking forward to many meals cooked on it. It's not something you would carry about with you in the woods due to its size and weight. I have plenty of wee products for that purpose. This is a product that you can use at home, camping or take with you in the car and sit somewhere and cook with ease. What I like best about this is that you can cook for a few people without messing about with regulating your heat or trying to keep the fire going.
