I have a 2019 Mazda 3. 2.0 liter. I didn't know what the issue was at first (was just a bad battery) but I needed to jump start my car a couple times. I live in an apartment, so no garage with AC power for a battery charger. Very inconvenient to call friends when they are on their fishing trips. I thought at first it was parasitic power draw when the engine was off, because it happened mostly when it sat for a week or so. This thing started the engine better than my main battery. No need to leave the cables on 10 minutes before starting the engine. No worry about hydrogen fires. Just clip the leads, then turn the main power switch which is far away from any possible hydrogen build up. Crank the engine. Vroom Vroom. I did this a few times on the same charge. That's to say the potable battery didn't drain much just starting the car and could do it a few times w/o any drop in the battery power w/o charging it between. I still haven't needed to charge it back up. This was pretty much under idea conditions - small engine, mild temperatures, etc except for the case this is a high compression engine, but this was one of the mid level models and I wanted extra power in case I needed it in the winter or to help a friend with a bigger engine. Pretty sure I will need a battery swap in a year or two to keep it fresh, but they do include a coupon of some sorts towards that. -John

After having this for 4 years and how much it helped me I came back to do some text edits. The clamps on these are well protected and when clamped on the unit for storage cannot touch anything to short out. The clamps are always ON, something to know. The cables and clamps are well made. It has been used to start a Lincoln Navigator, an old Mercedes, a Sonata, and an old Civic, none of which I own, but was done for others as a favor. OK, I got a new car and I still kept this in its box on the trunk of my Honda 2014 CR-V. I later learned the battery on the SUV only lasts about 3 years. I had it replaced before it died as it was weak. Then my 9 month old Honda replacement battery dies and the JNC300XL saves me. No worries just took it out and jump started it, no sweat no worry. I have road side assistance but never used it. Why wait when it takes maybe 2 minutes to do it yourself. Now I have another battery (provided under warranty). The other day when it was like 16 degrees I see someone with a 2015 Honda CR-V with their hood open down the block. I took out my trusty JNC300XL and got it started right up and explained the battery life on them. I let him hold onto it until his battery was replaced. It seems on newer cars you don't any warning of a battery that is going to fail other than a battery test. No slow starting, no dim lights The car simply does nothing when you turn the key one day. The small size and length of cables of the JNC300XL makes the process easy. The light is nice because it can be used to see what you are doing at night as you use it. Everyone who has seen it has been impressed on how small it is and those who had their cars started were impressed with how fast the cars turned over. I still would feel better with an on/off switch but I have experienced no problem without one. Would I buy it again, yes and did (for my daughter to have), and the reasons are the small size helps and it is well balanced and it is powerful, not to mention is is well made. You can use the 12V socket (where the light is) for a ODB II power maintainer plug when replacing a battery yourself so you do not lose the computer and radio and other memory in the car. If not having a switch bothers you, Clore used to sell a pro model like this with a switch but no longer, but they do have other models like their new lithium models. Unless you used it, every three months you recharge it to keep it ready. You can sign up at their web site for reminders, And FYI - there are some instructions on the bottom of the unit to remind you how to use it. You can before you buy this go to their site and download the manual. I have just also bought a JNC318 Lithium model (the 318 has an internal battery heater for when it is very cold which apparently is needed with Lithium for full power) for no reason other than I wanted a second one too in case I loan the JNC300XL to someone to hold onto when they go to get their battery replaced. I also like the added features of the USB charging ports on the new JNC318. But if all you want to do is be able to start your car, maybe use a light or a plug-in USB charger the JNC300XL is the one to get. If you want smaller take a look at the JNC318. I don't care what other brands are out there and I don't care the other brands prices, Clore automotive KNOWS what they are doing when it comes to Jump starters, chargers and testers. They are the guys you can trust. This brand is what the pros use. When your car does not start and you are freezing or stranded you will understand. Apparently the acid battery is replaceable too. Mine is still fine after 4 years with being in the car everyday, very cold or hot and charged every 3 months.

No computerized safety features make this the ultimate booster pack. Started a completely flat battery in a car that sat for more than a year Had a vehicle whose lights were left on all night in -10 degree weather. It was a large engine filled with 20W50 oil. So cold outside the car didn’t want to turn over and definitely wasn’t about to start. This booster pack sat connected to the battery for about 15-20 minutes and it started. Incredible! Connected to the main (trunk) battery under the spare tire in a BMW X5 when the alternator failed. Between the inadequate to start+barely sufficient to keep the car running main 12 volt battery plus this JNC Air clipped to the main battery in parallel, we were able to drive the vehicle for more than an hour with zero further issues until we got the vehicle to the shop, avoiding the need for a tow. It was stressful as we watched the dash voltmeter drop (instrument cluster hidden features that can be unlocked), but we made it. At the time, this particular JNC unit was seven years old, definitely not well maintained (there were a couple of years when we didn’t use it and completely forgot to charge it, while it sat on the floor in a basement) yet it always worked flawlessly and exceeded all expectations. Couple months later a similar scenario with a friend’s V8 Lexus LX. Alternator failed, main battery was completed depleted and couldn’t start the vehicle. Clipped the JNC Air to the main battery under the hood, started the car, left the JNC unit in there and jammed it in place by lowering the hood on the JNC unit; drove to the repair shop (only a few miles away this time) without anything more than the coiled air hose becoming kinked from the weight of the hood. We have helped many neighbors and strangers with this jump starter. This has started numerous vehicles without charging for months. It’s simply that good. This unit has saved us an incredible amount of time, made us countless friends, inflated numerous tires, and tested various electronics (using it as a 12 volt power supply). We felt we were pushing our luck with the JNC, being eight years old and quite abused, so we bought a new one of these and passed this to our tow company friend, who, after another two years, continues to use it on his AAA calls. Bonus: Recharges with a standard extension cord (120 VAC outlet). No need to use external transformers or keep track of special chargers. Other considerations worth mentioning: -This is a professional grade unit - it is large and heavy. Not something most will want to drive around with in their trunks at all times. -The air compressor works wonderfully however the attached/supplied hose and chuck aren’t the best. -The replacement certificate requires one to pay to mail the old unit in plus pay a $150 fee and you get a repaired or refurbished unit back. In other words, the certificate is financially pointless. Better to purchase a new replacement unit with all new parts within.

How exciting can a battery boost system be? I guess that depends on how badly you need it! I have a couple of other battery boost systems, but most are underpowered or annoying to use, with long cables or weird charging processes. This Jump-N-Carry is not annoying at all. It's a relatively light unit, with a nice handle, and about 3-foot cables that wrap around built-in holders that then hold the jumper clips in a neat package. You charge the Jump-N-Carry by plugging it in to the wall using an extension cord (not supplied) and the unit shuts off automatically (despite comments to the contrary!). A light shows when the Jump-N-Carry is charging and when fully charged. I've used the Jump-N-Carry several times already, including in the middle of a snow storm to jump a tractor battery to help clear snow. You simply unwind the cables and attache the clips, then start the vehicle normally. No buttons to push, nothing special to do. Every time the Jump-N-Carry has boosted the vehicles I've used it on without a hitch, after which you simply disconnect, wrap the jumper cables, and plug it in to recharge if the battery state is getting low. Despite wicked cold -40C winds killing the tractor battery in my last boost, the Jump-N-Carry required a single turn of the key to bring the tractor to life. It has done the same for my SUV and several stranded motorists, too. This is one of those devices you don't appreciate until you need it. I keep one in the garage, on a charger, and now have one in my vehicle for helping others when they stall. Well made, easy to use, simple in operation, these chargers have been flawless for me, and strongly recommended.

Great jump box for dealerships! It easily starts cars, trucks, even a skid steer. Performs well even in cold weather. We have jump started easily 50+ vehicles and have had zero issues. It’s definitely heavier than lithium options, but I’d rather have the durability and consistent performance. Hard to beat! Throw an AirTag on it so no one takes it!
