These books are brilliant. This is one of a series. I bought this particular one for my nephew who is only 1, but I’m sure will enjoy it when older The illustrations are fantastic and the story itself is simple but very effective. The books make for a good laugh. Hats off to the author and illustrator.

Fantastic story, have read it numerous times to and with my 6 year old since purchasing. Easy to follow along and keeps them engaged.

Absolutely brilliant! A must read - definitely a favourite in our house.

Ha! this is a really quirky book. Funny, with big pictures, animals, and a open odd ending... It's already a favorite of ours for bedtime, and nap time, and reading time and play time: you got, it's always requested. The design is really nice and interesting, and the story can be a start for a deep conversation with children.. A bear has lost his hat, and goes searching for it. (if you want to know the end, read the last line of this review)* This is the first book of the Klassen "Hat" trilogy ( This Is Not My Hat - We Found a Hat ), and in my opinion, this is the best one. Klassen style is really lovely: he uses simple lines, and the characters aren't over design, yet it's so catching and unique. There are pages with just 2 animals watching at each others, without text, and they're super funny. Reading it out loud is so easy: there are repetitions, there are various characters so you can make different voices, there are no over stressed or pompous words. You can even read it with a dim light 'cause the text is quite big (I'd say at least a 26/28 font) If your child like some specific animals, here we have: bear, fox, frog, moose, turtle, rabbit, squirrel, snake and what I believe being and armadillo. *(spoiler: the rabbit stole the hat, and he's getting eaten for this).

A family favourite and one that i think will be enjoyed by kids for many years to come. Each of the characters is brought to life so brilliantly.

Habe es für den Englischunterricht genutzt, um neue Frage-Antwort-Phrasen einzuführen (Have you seen my...?). Die Schülerinnen und Schüler (4. Klasse) haben es sehr gut angenommen und sich köstlich amüsiert.

“My hat is gone. I want it back” 帽子を無くしたクマさん、“Have you seen my hat?” と様々な動物達に声をかけながら、帽子を探す旅に出ます。その結末は意外なところにあり、かつちょっと残酷。 6歳5歳の、英語絵本での寝かしつけのつもりが、意外な結末にこども達も大興奮、すっかり目が覚めてしまいました。あれが伏線だったのか！と何度読み返しても面白い作品です。 英語的にはHaveを使った現在完了形の疑問形、否定形などが学べます。この本を読んだ後に「Have you seen my 」と言って探すごっこをして表現を定着させると良いです。

Ho acquistato I Want My Hat Back in lingua inglese e devo dire che è stata una scelta azzeccata. Il libro è davvero divertente: fa sorridere grandi e piccoli con un umorismo semplice ma molto intelligente. Le illustrazioni sono minimaliste, essenziali, ma proprio per questo funzionano benissimo. Nella loro semplicità riescono a rendere perfettamente le espressioni e le situazioni, dando grande forza alla storia senza bisogno di troppi dettagli. La lettura è scorrevole e il testo in inglese è chiaro, quindi adatto anche a chi vuole avvicinare i bambini alla lingua o leggerlo insieme a loro. L’unica cosa su cui resto un po’ incerta è il finale: è volutamente particolare e ironico, ma non so se sia sempre un esempio perfetto per i più piccoli. Detto questo, è proprio quel tipo di finale che rende il libro originale e memorabile.
