We have a unique problem that differs from others. Our South Florida garage is air conditioned, and we were losing COLD air from our garage to the outside environment through our 4" dryer vent pipe. This resulted in higher electric bills and less cool air in our garage as well as less cool air in our home. We live in a very sunny and salt-air environment where plastic does not hold up, aluminum corrodes, and steel rusts, therefore I wanted a stainless steel product. This is well machined, works flawlessly, and doesn't even build up lint in the interior due to its curved shape! It's fabulous! Only problem is I lost one of the tiny screws in our lawn that holds on the top cover. It's also stainless steel, and I couldn't find it! It's a very short fine thread but it may be a metric screw and I haven't been able to get a replacement anywhere! A standard screw did not fit, so for now I taped one side of the top down. Be careful not to drop a screw when you screw the cap on! Absolutely a great product! I don't mind paying the higher price for a quality item that will last!

This is a HEAVY DUTY unit. Highly recommend, cost more, but not made of plastic like the others. If you are drilling into motar, concrete , or brick will need drill, special drill bit for concrete etc and plastic sleeves to insert screws once placed into the drill hoes. Pick up a can of insulation foam. You will need a good drill, Ideal a hammer drill or it will just take more time. Removed old unit, had to be 20 years old. It allowed small unwanted critters to enter the house because the flap was no longer fully closing. Removed lint and junk in the vent tube, cleaned out, could be a source for a future fire. Premakred and drilled the base unit holes first. Once prepped used foam which is very messy if you are not careful, then screwed the base to the brick wall. This gives a tight insulated seal. Positioned the top piece and pre-drilled the two holes then loosely mounted the unit. I did not tighten down as I am waiting for the excess foam to dry so it can be removed easily on the base part. Careful with the foam when wet. Maker thought of a lot of things and included them in the package A+. Would of been nice it the plastic screw tubes for concrete / brick were include. They are cheap and saved a trip to the hardware store. Without the hardware trip all can be completed in less than an hour. Preparing the surface took the longest as I had to scrape off old caulk and clean out the pipe etc . Used a sharp scraper, screw driver and hammer to loosen the existing. In the end, well made product and would highly recommend. Hope this helps you. One of my concerns was finding the durable product .ONE OF THOSE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR SITUATIONS.

So, as others have said, this thing is very heavy-duty and well built. We had pipes freeze during the crazy winds and cold a week ago. I figured out that the air was getting in through the traditional, plastic flap, vinyl siding dryer exhaust vent. So I searched for a better solution and found this. Great idea, and it does seem to have stopped the draft getting into my walls. So, a definite success here. The problem is that this thing, by design, restricts air flow…My dryer alerts me when it is not expelling air fast enough, and ever since I put this on, the alert will not go away. So, it’s keeping the cold out and saving energy (and hopefully my pipes!), but at the same time it’s taking longer to dry and costing more on that end. Maybe they need a redesign? Make the box slightly bigger to allow more air out the sides? Idk. Frustrating. 4 stars for now until I can gauge whether my bills go up.

This is a really nice, well manufactured, heavy duty vent. Hardware included was also good quality, though I had to use other screws to fit my installation. Nice they included a spare lint cup. My house is vinyl sided, I got lucky and it fit nicely, though I had to use several layers of strip insulation to make it fit properly and be weather proof. I would but this again! Update: after one night installed, my laundry room is no longer drafty!!!

This dryer vent could be used on the space station it's that well made. For the money you are getting a product 100 times better than the flimsy ones the building supplies sell. Thick stainless steel, construction and fit are excellent. Very easy to clean although it doesn't need the amount of cleaning other ones need. The only minor issue is the two screws that hold the top on can be difficult to get back in due to there small size. I remedied this by purchasing longer stainless steel screws and add wing nuts to hold on to them. See photo. Still, 5-stars

Great quality product that exceeded my expectations. Delivery was fast, two days after placing order. As described stainless steel, and good solid thickness. Exceptional dryer vent, included and extra float cap and screwdriver, screws, and pair of work gloves. Highly recommend this product. This is to replace a plastic vent that is cracked and fallin apart. The new vent is stainless steel and should last for many years to come. Rob M

12 Years ago I bought similar model to this but in plastic (you can still buy it) and the efficient was awesome, but sun, winter, time and plastic don`t make a good mix, and finally the plastic version broke, I decided to upgrade to this metal version, installed since 2 months, working exactly like it is supposed, (no cold air in the dryer, all the lint goes outside, very easy to install come with glove (cute) a good screwdriver, a backup plastic cap and all necessary instruction.

So far so good. No more hot air coming into my dryer so I imagine it’ll be the same for winter. My only feedback or suggestion would be to make it in other colours as the metal seems painted anyways. Would have loved this in brown.
