It is sturdy and well made, with minimal assembly required. It is much longer than many other pickers, but the locking mechanism means that even when fully extended it feels solid. I've only tried it on apples so far and the basket design works well for those. I have an enormous old apple tree and for the first time I can pick the apples at the top of the tree. It is fairly light so one could even take it on foraging walks.
