Multipurpose lifters *by M***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 November 2017* I bought the set of 3 with the wooden handles - very pleased with the strength, lightness and flexibility. The tang on the 8" one is fitted down the wooden handle to a good third of the length of the handle, two rivets to hold it secure. The 6" spatula is similarly fitted, the 4" one has the tang a good half the length, again, two rivets. All three have a drilled hole for hanging (no loop).They're pretty secure. Not meant to be immersed in water for long, or put through a dishwasher, they still clean up well and have been really versatile. I've been using these for all sorts of purposes.They're really good at lifting wedges of flan or pie from the dish; for lifting traybake slices such as brownies or flapjack, or for extracting slices of pizza, lifting slices of cake or cheesecake from the plate/stand - and do a much better job than a broader fish slice (previously the nearest thing to hand) and live quite happily in the utensils jar along with all the other paraphernalia. They're pretty much my 'go to' gadgets.The design is very good, and the offset makes them particularly useful as lifters, but they're well balanced enough for distribution of icings and frostings, and as a flat finishing tool if you're short of a dedicated float.The materials used are basic s/steel which will pit, eventually, and the wooden handles, if exposed to a lot of steam or extremes of temperature will deteriorate. But as inexpensive, useful kitchen utensils that will last well for years with a little care, these represent good value for money at current rsp of under a tenner.
